The Ulthuan Invitational is held annually, with Ranked ([R]) teams of the highest caliber competing for the prizes. Qualifying for the prestigious final Knock-Out competition is done by way of winning one of the Instant Qualifying Tournaments (IQTs), which come in Light and Dark varieties, splitting teams according to allegiance and style of play. Applications to both qualification groups will be accepted as of now. As the tournaments themselves are IQTs, you will only be inducted into the group if you are in the relevant IRC Channel (#FumbblMajors) at a time when eight (or more) coaches wish to compete in a qualifier, starting April 25th. Note that each coach may attempt to qualify only once, unless it is later found that this renders the pool of teams too small. If too many coaches are present, application time to the group will be used to eliminate coaches from the starting IQT.

The winner of each of the sixteen qualifiers will receive a magical lantern which will guide them to the Asur Dome, which will reveal a BloodBowl pitch and stadium of special magnificence once all sixteen lanterns are gathered. Here, these teams will face each other until only two teams remain, only one of which will tread in the footsteps of Midwinter, last year's victor. The winner will, as usual, receive magical BloodBowl gear from Vaul's Forge, as well as the monetary recompense common to all the Majors.

The Ulthuan Invitational needs Tournament Facilitators. Are you interested in helping out with the Ulthuan Invitational? Applications from serious, dedicated and trustworthy coaches will be considered to help start the many IQTs that the tournament will require. If you are on-line a lot, have experience organising tournaments and are perhaps already FUMMBL Staff, please contact Mezir. We are trying to assemble a group of coaches, at least one of whom can be expected to be available to start an IQT at any time it is required.

Congratulations to BooAhl for winning the first qualifier, and with Skaven, no less (so much for them not standing a chance).

So as you can see, Qualifiers have started, and will continue to start whenever there are eight people around to play one in #fumbblmajors.

about 6 hours of play, someone tell me how long it takes before one group normally finishes, i might have to squeeze the games in tonight

and im talking all 8 lanterns

The UI is still looking for an Oceanian/Asian Tournament Facilitator to achieve round-the-clock coverage. Prerequisites: reliable, mature, tournament experience, and preferably SMACK experience.

Three Dark and three Lights qualifiers have been played so far, giving the following racial spread:

Chaos: 1
Dark Elf: 2

Skaven: 2

When does the UI start?
Directly after the 16th qualifier?
I need to get atleast 1 tackle!!
How is the Matchups? Dark vs Dark? and Dark vs Ligth in the final first or just a big lottery?

Seedings by CR. The starting date will be announced pending on when the other qualifiers finish. Most likely not to be immediately after the last one.

If the last spot isn't gone after this weekend, then coaches who have already attempted to qualify may try again, but with a different team than the first time.
