Ok, this is a n00b question, so apologies, but is there anywhere that details the icons that you see on the blood bowl GUI?

For example... I realise that the picture of the referee on his back is the Get the Ref card. I also know the weather symbol. I'm not sure what the human eye with a blue or red dot signifies... maybe spectators? (other players watching the game)... but why blue or red? What other symbols/card graphics are there?

All the special play cards I have ever had have been played automatically...

The eye is from the I got an eye on you rule (look in the living rulebook).
The special play cards are no more. Instead there is a handicap table (read the living rulebook).

Follow the URL. Download the living rule book. Enjoy the new and improved blood bowl. A lot of improvements hav been added since deathzone.

there are no special play cards... they were removed in the 4th edution

the eye means the refs eye is on your team. ie you will be sent off on a 4+ if you foul rather than a 6+. the refs eye goes on you once you make a foul and will go away when your oponent fouls or the half ends

The eye indicates that the ref has got an eye on the team with the depicted color, i.e. it will be harder for them to foul and get away with it.

Special play cards? I think you mean handicap table. Sometimes it's automatic, sometimes you have to answer some question first.

Thanks guys...

That clears up the eye query.... an yes I did mean Handicap table, not special play cards.... I just couldn't think of the terminlogy. And I agree the table is better than those cards!

The rule book is now printed out in glorious double sided colour! Thanks!
