I've noticed alot of coachs recommend taking Accurate over pass for a thrower type. Now, one thing is clear: Accurate is better than pass IF you have a RR to use..but if you don't have a RR to use (for whatever reason), then Pass should be considered a bit better...here are the numbers I came up with:

Code:

   Pass
Agility   qp   sp   lp   lb
1   55.56%   30.56%   30.56%   30.56%
2   75.00%   55.56%   30.56%   30.56%
3   88.89%   75.00%   55.56%   30.56%
4   97.22%   88.89%   75.00%   55.56%
5   97.22%   97.22%   88.89%   75.00%
6   97.22%   97.22%   97.22%   88.89%

Accuate (without a rr)
Agility   qp   sp   lp   lb
1   50.00%   33.33%   16.67%   16.67%
2   66.67%   50.00%   33.33%   16.67%
3   83.33%   66.67%   50.00%   33.33%
4   83.33%   83.33%   66.67%   50.00%
5   83.33%   83.33%   83.33%   66.67%
6   83.33%   83.33%   83.33%   83.33%

Difference between pass and accuate
(pass-accurate)
Agility   qp   sp   lp   lb
1   5.56%   -2.78%   13.89%   13.89%
2   8.33%   5.56%   -2.78%   13.89%
3   5.56%   8.33%   5.56%   -2.78%
4   13.89%   5.56%   8.33%   5.56%
5   13.89%   13.89%   5.56%   8.33%
6   13.89%   13.89%   13.89%   5.56%

The last chart lists the difference between pass and accurate (Pass% minus Accuate %)

In only 3 instances is accuate (without a RR) better than pass..
Agility 1 throwing a Short pass
Agility 2 Throwing a long pass
and
Agility 3 throwing a long bomb...and each of these instances is less than 3%

This is important because you often don't have a RR available to use..or if you use it on the pass roll, you won't get to use it on the catch roll...or a block that rolls skull skull.

Take it however you wish, but I think that pass is a
slightly better skill to take....

(of course, I'd rather a passer have both of them, but...)

Accurate is usually recomended over pass for things like ghouls that roll doubles. The reason for this is that the ghouls can pick up surehands and catch on normal skills and in the case of necromantic the werewolves already have catch. So with surehands and catch rerolling all the other rolls involved in the whole moving the ball sequance, the only thing left to use a reroll on is the pass action. As you stated accurate with a team reroll is much better than pass.

Also, accurate allows you to atempt longer passes with greater safety than pass if you have a team rr to back them up. Since only having accurate pretty much only happens on teams with a less than fantastic passing game being able to throw short passes reasonably well is very nice.

I did a different analysis which assumed you have an agility 3 receiver WITHOUT the catch skill. Then I looked at the probabilities to complete the entire throw (ie including catching the damned thing).

In this case, pass clearly seemed superior to the accurate skill for all distances of throw attempts. With a reroll the probabilites became similar, without, then pass was superior. The point being, without the catch skill, then with pass and a rr, you can save rerolls for catching...

I think I still would rather have pass. You can only use one Team RR per turn, and often that RR is needed elsewhere. IMO, the more you can cover with skill RR's the better off you are.

Teams that would be in a position to take accurate and not have pass on the player usually have surehands and/or catch which will typically free up your rr for the pass action itself. You can't use your team reroll to improve your odds of catching the ball if you already have catch. Pass is probably better in the short term but in the long term once your sitting on 5-6 team rerolls and have a decent number of players with catch and surehands along with block pretty much across the board for your blocking you don't have much left to use a team reroll on. So at higher tr accurate will be more usefull. The differance between the two is pretty minor before then so i'd go with the greater utility at high tr.
