click on the wiz icon before you do anything in your turn.

Remember, if you click it, you can't cancel.

Practice in stand alone to get used to it.

The point is you can ONLY use it at the start of your OWN turn, before you have done or moved anything,

I think there is actually a way to cancel it but only after you've selected the spell (I've done it before). However I cant remember exactly what it is so I wouldnt count on it Smile

In principle hitting escape should cancel it, but that didn't work for me when I tried it during a game. I couldn't remember how long the lightning template was and wanted to measure it. I should have opened up a stand alone game to test it, but foolishly clicked it in the real game, thinking that I could cancel it at any time.

I couldn't and then my opponent insisted that I use my lightning. While I had pretty much lost at that point anyway, the lack of consideration really left a sour taste (which is why I remember that episode and am still annoyed about it).
