*sigh*
After several hours of trying and trying, I have to give up. Or.. well - might aswell ask in here aswell.

Situation is I am behind a very evil Firewall, and therfor can't connect or host bb-games. I've tried several things to get by it, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Hmmm, the firewall shouldn't be stopping you from joining games, unless it is more restrictive than most. The most likely problem is that you are not able to download your roster through the firewall. The lastest version has options in the .ini file that allow that part of the program to work through a proxy, you might want to give that a try.

I am also behind a firewall, and using the proxy server I can host games, without a problem. I also have no trouble joining games.

If what Mr. Klipp says is the problem, then you can also download the latest version of your roster off of fumbbl and load it for the game, locally. As long as you didn't change anything on your roster you can upload the results as normal.

Asperon, don't recomend that, and please stop doing it if you are doing it yourself. =) It creates a big headache when someone forgets to update it before playing. With the latest version of the client you can configure it to download your roster through your web proxy, so this workaround should no longer be necessary.

Something else to add. It is possible that your firewall at work is blocking the outgoing ports necessary to connect. The best way to test this is to try connecting to a game with a standalone roster. Once you know you can connect, you want to get your proxy setting from your web browser and set up the java client to use it. I don't have a firewall and proxy setup available to test with, but I can look into getting some kind of walkthrough together.

I have a solution for the ones of us behind very restrictive firewalls.
Should work as long as you have a socks capable HTTP Proxy.
http://www.htthost.com/ has a free program that you can use to tunnel through a HTTP Proxy server. Sounds complicated, but it's not that hard to set up.

Here is what I have set up in httport.

Static TCP/IP port mappings (tunnels)

- Local Port = 8081

- Remote Host = fumbbl.com

- Remote Port = 8081

After setting these options, you have to remember to start HTTPort.

In the Bloodbowl Netclient window, set it up like this:

Host: 127.0.0.1 (This is the loopback address to your computer)

Port: 8081

Enable Proxy. Enter the name of the game you are trying to connect to.

I have not tried running as server.
