Don't believe so, I've seen the word used in print many a time, mainly overweening pride.
On a related note, First Mate ozjesting has started Stable ESPN, the channel devoted to Stable League fluff! Please check it out, and feel free to add reports, interviews, or whatever tickles your fancy at the time. Cos remember, to the writer go the spoils, or something.

As predicted the Wardogs won the 1st match up 2-1-1 with Ug finishing off his CD opponent for the clincher. Our armor sucked but our coaching was superior. Our banged up Stable is anxious to get healthy for the next losers to cross our path.
