Onearm was a favorite of the coach, fans, and other players. Even though he had only one arm, his lone arm was the strongest the Vikings had ever seen. Out of his first 4 games, he won the MVP 3 times. Unlike many players with such skill, Onearm shared the glory with his brother Bruisers. He was a mentor to the other Blitzers, and loved by the team. He was working with a 5 game Casualty streak. This is his final story.
The Viking Bruisers were training for the Warpstone Open. After 7 games in a row with no SI/RIP the Bruisers luck had to run out soon. The next three games they saw three MNG and a niggle; they hoped their dues were paid...they were mistaken. Emboldened by Dusterkr's newly found strength, the Bruisers bravely accepted a challenge against a team familiar with mutations the Bruisers would see in the Warpstone: Democracia. Democracia had multiple mutants, some with deadly claws, but one deadly Chaos Warrior, Zaplana who had a duo of Claws and Razor Sharp Claws. Dealing more than half of the team's total Casualties, the Bruisers were instructed to stand clear, unless the opportunity came to knock Zaplana down.
Woe to the Bruisers; the strange random skills that had been popping up all day had chosen Zaplana to gain the Dodge skill. While the bruisers had tacklers, they had none that combined tackle and mighty blow; Zaplana would be tough to take out of the game.
Demcracia won the coin flip and three victims were chosen to stand on the line. Zaplana, in all his might, swung once, knocking down two players. Wortok, the Bruiser's minotaur was only knocked down, but Sterkrmathr, brother of Dustekr and a new member of the team, was killed. Boldly, the Bruiser's apothecary rushed onto the field, attempting to revive Sterkrmathr. Zaplana had dealt to mighty a blow for any life to be brought to Sterkrmathr; he was dead for good. The apothecaries had tried and failed. So demoralized were they that they would not try again this game.
The Bruisers did their best to avenge Sterkrmathr, but Zaplana was too well guarded and no attempt was even possible. They set up to defend against a rush towards the endzone. Onearm, along with the other stongest Bruisers, was told to stay back; he did not like to stand clear...he wanted blood.
Zaplana was going into a frenzy, as the Viking's kicker "Kick Me," was dragged off the field. The Bruisers had had enough. They pushed away a troll to open up just enough room to get a blitz on Zaplana. Eager to bring down the killer, Onearm rushed in. He swung so hard with his one fist, Zaplana stumbled...but remained upright because of his new dodging skills. Onearm would not give up, he swung again. Too late he realized he was now deep in Democracia's defense. Zaplana swung back. The fans screamed(Chaos fans screaming for more blood, and Bruiser fans screaming in horror.) Onearm was rent in two. His light armor, while good for blitzing, was no match for Zaplana's deadly claws. The Bruiser's head coach quickly conceded, knowing that more of the outnumbered Bruisers would get killed seeking revenge.
The Bruisers buried Onearm today, vowing that they would win the Warpstone Open in his name. Although he has two arms, the Bruisers still call the man wearing Jersey #2 Onearm.
Rest in Peace, Onearm. You will be missed.
If only the Fumbbl's B-day had given Zaplana something else...Onearm would be the victor. Ah well...another Great Blitzer will come...eventually. |

Truly a sad tale. Conceding was probably the right thing to do, to save the rest of the team. |
