This might have been mentioned somewhere else but I've just found this Kickstarter for DreadBall.

Anyone heard about it? From what I could gather it borrows many mechanics from BB while having its own personal touch.

Thought it might interest some of you.

I guess they're adapting computer cyber future sport elements with bloodbowl. Looks to be a rip off of Elf Ball to me. Feel looks good though.

Deadball zone meets Elf Ball. Prefer Elfball's pitch I think, the shield shaped one is spectacular.

Edit: Actually looking at the pitch, it isn't anywhere near as spectacular as I remember!

Could be a pretty cool game, although there has been little so far that really shows how strategies and tactics of the game will be and how big the skill vs luck factor is.

Some game mechanics are explained on the development blog:

Hopefully it will be like BB Sevens but work much better since it is designed from the core as a faster paced game.

Hexes > squares!

However, the Vampire the Masquerade dice pool (reroll 6s) mechanic is far too much rolling per action.

The simplicity of 'each role has a stat regardless of race' and 'each race has a stat regardless of role' is nice for the learning curve, but I have yet to see how player development works. Will that ruin the simplicity, or will it be too modest, sorely limiting the replayability?

I'm not sure about the game but I love the look they have gone for.

No. Not even close.

Yep, their fantasy and sci-fi games are much closer to 40k and WHFB than this is to Bloodbowl and neither of those would give GW a leg to stand on if they tried to sue.

Space humans, dwarfs, orcs and ratmen are pretty generic so not protectable.

Yep, probably not so Blood Bowl-ish...

Cheers MattDakka although I don't think that gameplay video really shows what the game will be like, just the simple rules for a slam, a pick up and a score. I'm hoping the full gameplay video they mention will feature 6 models per side and some simple tactics at least.

Love the models, and even though I don't really get to play board games much, I am seriously considering pledging.

The game play video does worry me though. Seems to be a lot of dice rolling, and worse, a lot of adding and subtracting dice for all kinds of things. Could become a burden to calculate it all each move. Hope I am wrong.

The move, strength and skill (agility) stats are rather similar to Blood Bowl. Also the Skaven lookalikes.

It's a shame about the fantasy races and especially the dwarfs look rather ugly and the skaven aren't that hot either.
