The main purpose of League is to be the home for user-created tournaments. To many, League play is the best form of blood bowl. Arguably, it is the form of play for which the rules were designed and work best. FUMBBL provides many great tools to facilitate league play, which in turn has brought about many successful leagues.

This threads aim is to compile a list of leagues and tournaments currently running on FUMBBL to allow users to easily identify leagues that may interest them.



Current Leagues



Australia/Asia


League Name: Southern Wastes League (SWL)
Time Zone: Australia, New Zealand, Asia or living in the broad GMT +7 to +12 Timezones. Willing to consider applicants who are available during the evenings in this timezone.
Number of Teams: 40+
Special Rules: No, just straight up blood bowl. Anything goes.

Number of Teams: currently 44 (in 5 divisions). No real limit
Special Rules: Soccer (football) themed. No being a dick. Wink Limit of 4 teams per race.

Short Description: WIL is now in its 27th season and is still going from strength to strength. No special fluff or rules, just a good old fashioned league where we duke it out to become champs. What more could you want? Oh yeah, we also have a nice active IRC channel and a fun bunch of coaches who like nothing more than banter while beating your team into abloody pulp. Seasons are constant with no big breaks in between and we all have the FA (Fimir All-comers) Cup once a year.

Time Zone: mainly UK/Euro evenings (though we have a few flexible US coaches)
Number of Teams: 72, of which 11 are currently participating in 2 scheduled divisions).
Special Rules: Mix of open and scheduled play. Racial limitations. No bash skills. No fouling. No stalling. No limit to #of teams per coach.

Short Description: Essentially an elfballing league, rush and pass is all about scoring (fast) and defending well, and not at all about attrition based gameplay. You can sign up to only play friendlies [R] style, or join a season of weekly scheduled matchups in both a TV 1500 capped and an uncapped division.

Time Zone: mainly UK/Euro evenings (though we have a few flexible US coaches)
Number of Teams: Lot. A really lot. (There are different sub groups, so cant count.)

Short Description: Quick games, no reroll, adrenaline rush. Currently testing the revised ruleset.


League Name: Old World Challenge Cup (OWCC)
Time Zone: UK/Euro - but anyone welcome who can play in those time zones.
Number of Teams: Currently 16 (may expand to 32 at some stage)
Special Rules: Limit of 2 teams per race. Leagues selected by draft system. Teams must be named after Old World places/cities.

Short Description: The OWCC runs a short season; a four round swiss league to start, followed by cups. Winner of each conference take turns to draft teams in to next season's conferences. Short format means most teams still have a shot at the title on the last day, and even if you don't, it won't be long until you get another chance!

Number of Teams: 32 Exactly (Coaches are chosen to replace past ones)
Special Rules: Players are drafted from the NCBB, built to the SPP level they were and their skills are changed to the ones a players graduated with by an Admin

I think this topic needs some sort of categorising system. Maybe geographical followed by alphabetical or number of teams?

League Name: LOBBL (L.O.B.B.L. - Lands of Orymm Blood Bowl League)
Time Zone: Any. BB time used for the tournaments in the league.
Number of Teams: Expandable.
Special Rules: Travel from location to location in a fluff-rich league. Play casual games as well as tournament and cup games, and develop rivalries and achieve personal goals. Rules and specific restrictions vary per location and tournament, as well as per roster.
