Is there a way to set points gained etc in a Swiss format league? In Round Robin there are options for Win, Loss, Draw and bonuses for TD and Cas that can be set. When I try to configure a Swiss the only option is Rounds. How do I set the scoring? If it can't be set, what is the default?
Any help appreciated |

Once you have set up your competition there is a 'configure' button. This gives you the point scoring options. |

In Swiss the configure button only has a Rounds option, unless I'm doing something wrong? Do I have to start the tournament and then set the scoring afterwards? |

I don't believe you can change the scoring for Swiss. Only the number of rounds is configurable. Default scoring is 2/1/0 for W/D/L, with TD diff plus half of cas diff as tie-breaker. |

It looks like that is the case. That's a shame |

Ahhh ok, that is the case. Configure has your point scoring options and it isn't there. So you can't edit that. Put in a feature request in the bug section. |

Configure is there, it just doesn't have point scoring options within it. It never has, as far as I can remember - with Swiss, you are stuck with the 2/1/0 system. |

I meant the point scoring option wasn't in configure. Which means it's not available for Swiss as configure is where you find your point scoring options. |

The half cas tie breaker is a real pain about the default settings... it doesn't make any sense and tends to have a rather huge impact, particularly in swiss.. |

You can't edit the tie-breaker manually, which is annoying - only the total score. |

There are a lot of League & Scoring formats that require the hand of the commissioner.

Well, you can set it up so the "Score" = the tie-breaker points, which is nice on that count. BUT it means that all the teams are listed on that page in tie-breaker order, and you have to look at the W/T/L record and do that math yourself to determine the leaders. I've seen both done successfully. (Imo the TB display works better w/ smaller sub-groups so it's easier to see compare the team W/L records, and worse if it's a big group or the cycle has many games where TB won't be as likely to come in to play.)
I suggest you start a Group (give it a pointless name, like "tempgroup" or something), add a handful of your own [L]eague teams*, and set up a Tourney to see the available options.
(* A team can be in multiple Leagues at once, just don't play games outside your League if that's not allowed.)
When you're done experimenting, disband the group, all good.
(There's also an "Idiot's Guide to Creating Leagues & Tourneys") |
