I actually spent on the order of 6 hours last night on league changes. You wouldn't believe how much trouble I had implementing a seemingly simple thing 
Basically, I added support (on the dev site) to add external rosters to a ruleset. Roughly speaking, it worked out to this:
1. Implement an API call to search for a roster - 30 minutes
2. Implement an API call to add a roster to a ruleset - 10 minutes
3. User Interface work to let you search for a roster - 1 hour
4. Making the jQuery table component I have to render a list of current rosters on the ruleset able to be refreshed without a page reload - 4.5 hours.
I'll probably spend another 6 or so hours on this stuff tonight (need to implement a way to remove a roster from a ruleset as well for example), and am hoping to get a bit more functionality in place.
I'll probably need to sit down and think through the development of the league changes and come up with a reasonable list of milestones/release points for the changes I'm working on. To me, it feels like there isn't necessarily *that* much work remaining to be done before I can push a beta version of these changes to the site. |

Well there you go, word from Christer! Yeah 6 hours after a days work add up to the fatigue. Let's hope the coding isn't too much of a tooth ache for you. I think we all appreciate what you doing to get this up and running.
For the record, I think Garion is about where he wants to be with his lists. So implementation of a lot of this really does look like it's going to happen, exciting times. |
