Anyone got an idea on how to enable my pc to run the jnlp applet for watching replays and plaing fumbbl?

I added both http://fumbbl.com and https://fumbbl.com to the exception list, but still blocked. I even enabled the MD5withRSA algoritme in java.security but to no avail.

When i launch the applet i get :
- Application Blocked for security
- Failed to validate certificate. The application will not be executed.

Have been stuck on this for the last hour or so :/

I don't know what the current status with the security certificate on Fumbbl is. It's been working fine for me for a while.
A good starting point would be to check for updates. Other than that, nothing comes to mind. It doesn't sound like its caused by another application.

Here is an older post from Christer. https://fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=27282

Not sure if this is applicable here. But if you are desperate oh well... it looks like its probably gonna work like that either way.

If you're not pressed I'd wait a day or two for answers and try later again.

Can you give some more system informations? Like OS, browser, dunno what else... firewall, antivirus.. it does sound like the problem is java but since I'm out of ideas...

Edit: I was basically just thinking a while back there was an issue with old OS which didn't support new encryption methods... we then got an older encryption key which has caused me alerts in chrome ever since... but if your OS is new and not a mobile phone or something like that, that's probably not it either...

Edit2: Just checked and am not getting any alerts anymore in Chrome. Says encryption is up to date. So if you happen to run an age old OS it's perhaps not a coincidence. Otherwise, mmm.

Or its a reverse issue and the new OS can't or doesn't want to handle an outdated encryption. Smile

hm Looks like i got the same or just slightly different issue here!

i start the download but Java states:

"Ihre Sicherheitseinstellungen haben die Ausführung einer Anwendung mit einem abgelaufenen oder noch nicht gültigen Zertifikat blockiert"!

i try in english, it should mean something like:

" the security Settings have blocked the execution of the application because of an expired or not yet valid certificate"

got a new pc with win 10 and Java is up to date? any Solutions anyone?

thx

Yeah, The default settings are incredibly restrictive. To fix this, follow this process:

1. Update Java to the latest version (from java.com)
2. Open your control panel (for W10: right-click the start button, choose control panel)
3. In the search box in the top right of the window, type: java
4. Click the java icon
5. Switch to the "Security" tab
6. Towards the bottom, under "Exception Site List", click the "Edit Site List..." button.
7. Click the "Add" button.
8. Click the line under "Location" (where there's an example https url)
9. Type: https://fumbbl.com
10. Press Enter
11. Press "OK"
12. Press "OK" again
13. Done. You can now launch the client.
