Uh, going to need more information here...

But to be quite honest, my solution to just about every problem in bloodbowl is simple: try to surf n turf (boot).

It's always possible, but I grant you, it sounds tricky.

Without more to go on (what skills / inducements do you have instead of Guard?), it's tough to give much more than generic advice, but this is a situation where it seems as if your opponent has a global blocking / strength advantage. The best way to deal with that is generally to keep your Guard mobile and disengaged, and then when the opportunity arises, pounce. Make a local advantage for yourself, and his Guard away from the critical action area will be less of an advantage. Think going big contact on a cage, or making a beach head for yourself to advance.

Of course, that's much easier said than done, and manipulating your opponent into that position never easy. Good luck!

1) Spread out, guard is only useful if the players are close together.
2) Pass all your 3+ dodge rolls and feel like an elf.

Did you have more pombers? If not what are you doing with your team that you have less guard and less pomb than someone of a similar tv?

This is why more info is needed. He's not necessarily playing against an opponent at the same TV.

TV based match making theorems aren't necessarily applicable here.

4 guard is plenty if you will put them where you need them

try tying down his guards with your linemen to 1 side of the pitch or the other

spread out to avoid committing to a scrum where he will have the advantage

try to keep your guards on the 2nd or 3rd level of your defense so that you can move them into where they need to be for the next turn

stay spread out as often as is possible and only commit to the scrum when you must or when you can can an advantage by doing so

See what advantages you DO have? If he has 4 more Guard maybe you have something else you can use... or at least you have some INDUCEMENTS you can use.

More info will get you more advice and probably better advice.

Both weighing in at around 1700. But he went guard on bobs and I went block plus he had st5 Bob which tried to tie up with troll

But his 8 guards to my 4 was to much
In hindsight I think maybe running with a gobbo and using my two blodge blitzer was an option but he also had 3 tacklers
Was just up hill all the way....was trying to go one die blocks with bobs but the guard negated shit loads

Tough one

Sounds tough. One of those where you hope the opponents 2d blocks suffer from both downs where he lacks block skill. Can happen if he starts throwing a lot of hits. Trying for 1dblocks isn't ideal.
