Background: South of the city states of Araby are nomads and tribes. They share the same tongue and at least in theory bow to the Sultans of the North, but these southern people effectively are independent whose only loyalty lies within their family and tribe.

From the merchants travelling hundreds of miles bringing trade goods on mighty beasts of burden to wandering magicians using their trapped djinn's on any who dare rob them to daring carpet riders flying as close to the border with the Land of the Dead as they dare, these sands bring about a different kind of people.

Yet, blood bowl slowly has come to the nomads, attracting these peoples north, bringing their own strange mix of Araby magic to the game.

Rational: Like nippon, Araby is filled to the brim with interesting lore, so this is my attempt to make a "northern nippon" team for Araby.

The Bedouins and Dervishes are taken straight from the current secret league Araby roster.

The flying carpet riders are a staple of Araby fluff, which is best represented by agility four, very long legs and leap. They have passing access as the carpet throwers in the army lists often were armed with projectile weapons, and a leaping passer does open up plenty of different options. However, flying a carpet is such an obvious violation of the rules that even the blood bowl blind/deaf/bribed/scared refs are going to notice.

Djinn's are unstable summoned elementals. There are Djinn's for water, fire, and a few other elements, however the desert Djinn's were the easiest to translate into the game. The hypnotic gaze and disturbing presence represent these djinn's ability to summon swirling sands to surround them, making it harder to see or even temporarily blinding anyone who comes too close. They are stronger than your average man, requiring 4 strength, and have at least average agility, so they still need agility 3. However, they are not long term or stable summons, so decay represents how the djinn can easily be forced back into it's bottle.

Finally we have the Elephant. A dozen Arabyians can ride these giant creatures into battle. It has Really Stupid over Wild Animal as these are trained creatures meant for war, but entirely require the guidance and direction of their trainers to do anything. Prehensile Tail represents their trunks. Sure Feet represents the elephant's four feet, although they don't have sprint like Bull Centaurs for balance reasons. They have stand firm because A. they are really heavy and B. they have four very sturdy legs.

Could also chuck in "extra arms" to represent the trunk. It should be good at interceptions!

Well, you now have an underpriced and overdescribed big guy, but other than that I like the team. No core skills, but fun rookies all the same, and lots of development potential.

Some do, in the Namib and Sahara deserts. As for the BB/WFB world, who knows?

Actually elephants used to live in North Africa before the Romans drove them to extinction. In any case, they are a Araby troop type: http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammerfb/images/8/89/Arabian_Elephants_Araby_Warmaster_Miniatures.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160413104458[/url]
