The ruleset changes immediately in terms of progression, team creation rules, client options etc.

Teams are connected to the league and not directly to the ruleset. Changing the ruleset of the league will not disassociate teams from the league, so old teams will be playing under the new ruleset.

It's grandfathered into the new setting. New teams will only be able to be created with races supported by the new ruleset. Similarly, a race that is changed where there are existing teams (such as the removal of a position) will be grandfathered to still have the positionals. Skill changes to positions take effect immediately, stat changes may take a game played to change.
Mind you, there are some changes that will cause random things to happen (such as changing the progression setting of a league where teams already played games). A change like that may have effects you don't intend, so be careful. |

We did a reboot in Swedish League. All new teams created within the new ruleset.
So far it seems to be a success. |
