SWL Thunderdome 13

Now, when men get to fighting, it happens on the pitch, and it finishes on the pitch! Two teams enter; one team leaves."

Welcome to another edition of Thunderdome!

After a 2 year hiatus, proceeded by another 9 year hiatus, SWL Thunderdome is back! This time with more weaponry.

We have 7 (possibly 8 ) teams that over the last 6 months have fought their way across the Fringes for this tournament.

And now they are finally here to entertain you.

Crookwell Green Devils tribalsinner 2370k Chaos Renegades
Late Show tussock 2310k Dark Elf
Ook Ook jevouse 2240k Simyin
Fringe Lurkers Sharper 1550k Necromantic Horror
Morgwegian ramchop 1220k Norse
Butterfield's Birthday Pie m0gw41 1090k Halfling
+1 yet to be confirmed late entry

Let the fighting commence!

Thunderdome Rules:
3 rounds Swiss with overtime; then top half (rounded down to 2, 4, 8, etc.) plays TV seeded KotH. Winner plays the reigning Thunderdome Champions.
    No extensions.
Banned Sneaky Gits goes to KO box
Teams receive 50k card and 250k inducement allowance to be spent like this:
50k to be spent on 1 Dirty Trick
100k to be spent on bribe(s)
150k that must be spent on player(s) with the Secret Weapon Skill (including Mercs with SW like Loonies and Deathrollers). You must spend as much of the 150k in this way as possible and you can also add other (normal) inducement cash to hire for instance a Merc Deathroller. Any spare cash after purchase may be spent as normal.
Note: Elves and Halfling teams, not having access to Secret Weapons, must instead spend this 150k on a combination of Cards/Apothecary/Babes/Chef
Take care getting the inducement buying phase right, but feel free to add of your own treasury and TV difference to buy inducements as well.
If mistakes are made during the inducement phase, you can have the game restarted by Fumbbl staff (support ticket).

Someone play me tonight so I can actually qualify please.
I have 2k+ Dwarfs but most prefer the ball to blood-letting and you can throw any old fringe team at them

Note: The Blackwater Blitz, fearing for the safety of their players, have given Fringetown notice that they won't be defending their Thunderdome title. This means that the final of the current Knockout competition (KotH) will serve as the Thunderdome final, with all that entails.

THE CONTESTANTS

FRINGE LURKERS (1st)
Perhaps somewhat surprising considering their TV compared to some of the other teams in the competition, Fringe Lurkers went undefeated through the Skirmish, beating Slann, Simyin and Flings to come out on top. They will again play the Slann of Crash Tragic whom they beat in Game 1, and must be considered favorites in this match-up.

vs.

CRASH TRAGIC (4th)
Game 1 losers, and notorious pessimists Crash Tragic, made one of the bigger upsets of the Skirmish, turning their run around by beating eventual Wooden Spoon winners Crookwell Green Devils in Game 2. They then went on to beat Morgwegian to claim the final spot in the Knockouts. There are two questions going onwards and upwards (and downwards): will they have learned from Game 1?; or will the boing-boing splat?

LATE SHOW (2ND)
More questions: will the Dark Elves of Late Show be paralysed by the potential enormous embarrassment of back to back losses to the flings of Butterfield, or will the Dark Elves large arsenal of skill and finesse do what its supposed to do, and do away with another potential doo-doo on their match record. After all - even if somewhat Late - they did Show some shaky form again, beating Ook Ook to finish 2nd while scoring the most touchdowns in the Skirmish.

vs.

BUTTERFIELD'S BIRTHDAY PIE (3RD)
In the spirit of birthdays, Butterfield's Birthday Pie provided us with delightful surprises upturning Morg's apple cart (RIP Pullhiscartssøn), and making an absolute shock victory against the 1230k bigger Late Show in Game 2 to guarantee them passage through to the KOs. Morg himself was so impressed with the little rascals, that he himself signed up to help topple the Darkies in the subsequent game. He is expected to appear to help them do that yet again. The Chefs have already started preparing a giant Dark Elf style smörgåsbord.

Pfft, check the scoreboard! Turning our run around?! More like a speedbump to the top being our only loss this whole dome including all our trials!

If we get a remotely fair and non-racist referee, Crash Tragic will jump to contention just like we did in the trials (this will be the third time we play each other in five games for Crash Tragic).

And this time we know there's Overtime! There's no stopping us now we're armed with the important details!

Hope forlorn. Late Show!

The knives were sharp for the final, taking out both wolves, and the cas were always going the way of the Dark Elves. Despite an excellent 1-turn and receiving for the win for Necro, a failed pick up off a short kick and only 2 TZ on the ball after the blitz left no trouble for an 8357 runner, at least after we intercepted their recovery pass and put a few more off the park.

18 games for the Late Show for this, 12/2/4, Won the ones that mattered. Cool
