Congratulations to Grod and Technically Minded for winning Waikikamukau III with a perfect 4/0/0 record. Overtime was implemented in the final round to ensure a clear winner, but it was not needed as the Dwarfs powered through Pitch Slap to victory.
A big thanks to polemarch for running this annual off season tournament. 24 teams, with famous faces from SWL history, plus a smattering of DIBBL teams and a bunch of newer faces from Fringe. It was huge.
Bling! A lot of teams didn't get their Round 4 in before Waikikamukau decided its town had been overrun with foreigners for long enough and called Immigration in to deport them all. So some players may feel a tad aggrieved - tough!

3rd - Pitch Slap
 Star Player Points - 19spp - Flame Princess (Transfusion Time). It was a close race, after R3 tied on 17spp with Manny the skink. Flame Princess had a disappointing final game where she was expected to squish much more than that solitary fling. However, for once the 1TTD specialist was slow off the mark and didn't even make the starting blocks for Round 4.
 Touchdowns - 5 - Manny the Mammal (Billabong Bunyips). Despite only playing 3 rounds, this zippy skink was clearly the best with ball in hand.
 Casualties - 5 - Groe 'Mean' Jeen (Noocastle Snot Bombers). Tied with Flame Princess, this Ogre takes the tie breaker with a game in hand. Kicked off Waikik with a Cas hattrick.
 Completitions - 6 - Tossa' Turnbull (Orc Lordz). Go the Orc passing game!
 Fouls - 16 - Swib Swab (Back Alley Burglars). Amazingly this snotling only played 2 games in the competition. But with a disgusting 13 fouls in his first game he was never going to be challenged for this award.
 Blocks - 35 - Aapo (Isis'r'us). A rookie tomb guardian footing it with the big boys.
Rushing Yards - 91 - Manny the Mammal (Billabong Bunyips). Get the ball, run, score! Simple.
 Passing Yards - 23 - Elizabeth "Batty"Bathory (Famous Femmes). Just edging a Dark Elf by a single yard.

Wow... Over so quick... I thought we were 5 round with 22 players, but such is life.

Well done Girod and everyone else.
With a clear winner, undefeated dwarves and SWL into its first round it was time to pack the bags and head home until next year. |
