With Season 3 of Secret League Americas now officially drawn to a close, we can now move into the final stage, which is a knockout tournament playoff between the top 8 teams, to decide who will be the overall league winner for Season 3.
However, before that can begin, I firstly need to confirm the results of the lost treasures and player prizes (as those can affect the final season scores). |

Firstly, the lost treasures:
In the Upper Tier (highest-TV division), Sigmar1's Daemons of Slaanesh, Ecstasy and Agony, with an undefeated run, have managed to hold on to the Bejewelled Helm of Studmandudebro for the whole season. This is a heroic feat, and means that, regardless of the result of the playoffs, they will have the option of keeping the Bejewelled Helm permanently. However, to do that, they would have to voyage back to the Chaos Wastes, which means that Sigmar would have to play a different team in Season 4. The choice is entirely up to him, so we will have to see what he decides to do.
The Sacred Idol of Potzipanzi has not been seen since it was in the possession of captainmalkor's Jungle Muppets at the end of Season 2. However, a mysterious cryptex was discovered in the wreckage of their ship by the Sea Elf, Allstar. However, Allstar was unable to open it before it was stolen by the dastardly skeletal pirate, Ahkuris (belonging to razmus). Will Ahkuris be able to open it before disaster strikes, and is there some connection between this intriguing object and the Sacred Idol? Perhaps we'll find out next season!
Rumors have been circulating of another lost treasure in the vicinity of the West Coast of Lustria - the Burial Mask of Jongelipkiss. There were suggestions that a Pygmy scholar had a clue as to it's whereabouts; however, no-one has yet been able to track it down ... |

Player Prize Results:
Our seasonal player prizes go to the individual players who have excelled on the BB pitch above all others in certain categories. They are listed on the 'booty' tab of the SLA Group Page, along with a list of past winners. Each player prize gives +1 to the season score for their team. They are based on the player stats in selected categories, which are posted on the 'stats' tab of the group page.
These are the winners for Season 3!:
Golden Ball of Shak'rilak (touchdowns)
The Golden Ball this season is unclaimed, as both Tirzat Bluntfinger of Kadrin Doom (Slayer) and Snowden of [SL]Shadow Horde (Clan Eshin) are tied on 7 touchdowns. This leaves Sister Mary Ellen of Sisters of the Silver Hammer (Sisters of Sigmar) as the only player to have claimed the Golden Ball so far (Season 2).
Golden Gauntlet of Ixlsis (blocks)
The Golden Gauntlet this season is claimed by Pharoh Semerus of Dead Men Walking (Zandri), who scored 85 blocks. Pharoh Semerus is the third player to win the Gauntlet, after Sybyll'evestel in Season 1 and Garbug in Season 2.
Golden Mace of Ixlsis (casualties)
The Golden Mace this season is also claimed by Pharoh Semerus, who has clearly had a ruthless season, scoring 8 casualties! It was won last season by Honda Tadakatsu of SL Shogun (Northern Nippon). This might make Pharoh Semerus the first player to win two prizes in a single season (I will have to check the records on that ..).
Golden Wings of Vraxx (Passing Yards)
The Golden Wings this Season are claimed by Dr. Strangesnork of the Snorkland Stars (Sea Elves), who scored 19 passing yards. The prize was won last season by Aurarial of Starfall Cove of Sirens of the Sea and Sky (also Sea Elf, strangely enough).
Golden Glove of Hopsalottal (interceptions)
The Golden Glove glove goes unclaimed for a third straight second season, with 5 players all on 1 interception. It certainly seems to be the hardest prize to win!
Golden Boot of Ripfang (fouls)
The Golden Boot this season is claimed by Attendant Evan of Gentleman's Club [SLA] (Tilea), who scored 17 fouls. It was won last season by Gnocrirr of Big 'Uns is Best 'Uns (Big 'Uns).
Golden Shades of Slimi Hendrik (MVPs)
The Golden Shades are unclaimed this season, with 4 players all on 3 MVPs! This leaves Paskr of Ol Dirty Rats (Clan Pestilens) as the only player who has claimed it so far (Season 2). |

Wow, I'm amazed the hobgoblins didn't take home the boot. Good job Tilea. |

I might have to take away the Golden Glove, as it's pretty obvious no-one is ever going to win it! |

Pharoh Semerus would make a public statement, but unfortunately reflexively destroyed the podium on the approach. |

You've had a good finish to the season, razmus, what with Ahkuris snatching the cryptex and Pharoh Semerus winning two player awards! |

So, with Season 3 of SLA now complete, the final playoff tournament can commence, to determine who will be the Grand Champion and have the honor of wearing the Crown of the New World!
The final playoff this season is an 8-team knockout tournament, consisting of the top 4 teams from the Upper Tier (higher-TV) and the top 2 teams from each of the two Builder (lower-TV) divisions. These are the quarter-final matchups:
Ecstasy and Agony (Daemons of Slaanesh) - Sigmar1 vs Kurnous Cowboys (Kurnous) - dashergeaux
[SL] Shadow Horde (Clan Eshin) - Kzarik vs Vostok's Vanguard (Kislev) - Craftnburn
SL Shogun (Northern Nippon) - MrNomad vs [SL] Two and a Half Elves (Half Elf) - gpope
Kadrin Doom (Slayer) - Buu88 vs Gentlemen's Club [SLA] (Tilea) - robocoyote
Sloss-ti wishes good luck to all of the teams involved! (ribbit) |

Well, par for the course. After rampaging their way thru the regular season, Ecstasy and Agony laid a big fat egg in the playoffs, this time losing in round 1 to a solidly played Kurnous team.
Time for the team to figure out if they want to take a season off to secure the fabled Bejewelled Fur-lined Half-Brassierre of Studmandudebro.
Honestly, they should just give the thing up. Current wearer of the half-brassierre, Deva'statyll, Bringer of Vengeance, hasn't done jack all in 12 matches. Bringer of Disappointment she is. |

@Sigmar1: wow, that's a shock result! Unlucky dude. After the fantastic league phase they had, and getting to the final game last time, I really thought this might be your season.
Congrats though to dashergeaux. Those Kurnous are proving hard to beat! So far, the first two finals games have both seen Upper Tier teams knocked out by Builders. This thing might not go as planned for the Upper Tier! Thrilling stuff! |

Well, the thing with that is that a running yards prize would probably get won by the same player that wins the TD trophy, so I thought it might be a bit redundant.
What I might do is look at replacing it with 1 or 2 of the 'combination' prizes for next season. I'll need to give it some thought (and consult Sloss-ti) |

Well, the half-elves are out. Which is probably to be expected going up against +530k TV, but still stings a bit.
With MrNomad's oni out for the game (thanks Khorne!) I brought in Morg to be the equalizer. He pitched in 2 CAS and a couple KOs, which was a huge help in a game where both sides were rolling a lot of pushes, but in the end my single tackle just wasn't enough in the face of 5 highly developed dodgers.
Since Shadow Horde also won their game it looks like the semifinals are going to be Kurnous/Eshin and N. Nippon/Slayer, elfball vs. bash. Good luck to everybody! |

Good effort, gpope! Was a tough matchup against the reining champion. Still, your Half Elves had a great season and I hope they will be back for Season 4
Yes, the last 3 games of the season are shaping up to be very exciting! |
