while secret league is obviously great. I would probs start off with a few games in ranked division first just to get used to things.

Why?

The main advantage of Ranked is that it is quicker to get a game.
But good things come to those who can wait. Wink

just to get back in to the swing of things, learn the client, the basics of the game again before taking a plunge in Secret League which has its own learning curve.

But if you are familiar with the game already, then dive right in Smile

The main thing to know is that you can only play against teams that belong to the same ruleset. For Secret League Open, the convention is to prefix your team names with [SL]. This makes it easier to find opponents on gamefinder. Though some teams won't have this as it is not a big deal if they mainly find their games via discord, PMs or tournaments.

As for the rosters, there are too many to worry about a learning curve. Just play. Mr. Green

yes, I wish this was not still a problem. If only game finder did not show teams from different rule sets. when looking for a game.

Thanks for the advice. I'm refreshing myself on the rules and such. I have the client ready to roll and I am running drills with tabletop getting ready for my first games.

On an off-hand note.. anyone tried playing on ipad? is it possible?

The client runs on java and java can't be installed on ipad.

You can spectate games using this link: https://fumbbl.com/p/phaserapp

But no playing on ipads (yet)
