Xenophobes Federated Leagues

Season XIV is about to begin, watch this space!

There are some changes to XFL this season so please check the post below.

For those who don't know the XFL tournaments are for teams of the same race to play each other.

This is a mixed Ranked & Blackbox minor & qualifying tournament for the 'Masters' (see below). Each coach may enter one team of each race if they wish, or teams of any one or two races from those listed.

Over the course of the season all races will take part but please only apply with those races currently listed. The season will take several months to complete as we run only three races in each round.

They are run as KO Cup style tournaments & there is no limit to how many coaches may enter.

No limit to TR or TW is used so you may enter a Rookie team or a 1000 game Legend team! As no seeding is used either, you could find yourself using or playing against a lot of inducements.

At the end of the season we run a 'Masters' series where the winner of each qualifier has the chance to be best of the best, & receive a magnificent prize!
Should any winners be unable to play beaten finalists will be offered the chance to play instead. The Masters runs as 2 groups in a Swiss tournament followed by a KO tournament between the top two teams of each Swiss group.

We will plan to have a fixed schedule & have all rounds complete so the 'Masters' can be fitted into Fumbbl's tournament schedule around September 2520.

XFL application dates, all Wednesdays.
20th November 2019
1st January 2020
29th January
26th February
25th March
22nd April
20th May
17th June

I've spent alot of time pondering the format of the XFL masters lately.
The current format with three rounds of swiss is quite terrible.
Mainly because of the matching and tie-breaking criteria.

Wouldn't it be much nicer, smoother and more epic with a traditional group stage followed by a knock-out stage. For example three teams in each group. The eight winners move on to the knockout stage.

It would be cool if the groups of races always were the same for example:

"The Dead":
Khemri
Necromantic
Undead

"The Chaotic":
Chaos Chosen
Chaos Pact
Nurgle

"The Tiny":
Goblin
Halfling
Underworld

"The Sapiens":
Amazon
Human
Norse

"The Elven":
Elven Union
High Elves
Wood Elves

"The Skins of Green and Blue":
Orcs
Lizardmen
Slann

"The Shadows":
Dark Elves
Skaven
Vampire

"The Bulk":
Chaos Dwarves
Dwarves
Ogre

With two matches for each team in the group stage followed by three matches in the knockout stage. The winner plays five matches in the tourney. Which is the same as in the current format. But more games will actually be meaningful...
