For Star players in my league I have begun creating icons for the idividual players. Well two of them so far.

Robocop is in his team colours, the rest of the team are standard icons with Yellow shirts.

Nice work tenpole!

Kyle is pretty much perfect i reckon.

Robocop probably needs to have more black/dark grey on him - if you have a look at the portrait, his mid-section, and gloves are quite dark.

I did darken his mid section but was not happy with the result so I just used this one.

And really cool Robo cop mod of it. Glad to see that some one wend with my god old mecher and not the new one som one includes insted in some icon pack.

Kyle is awersome too really cool icon it totally capture the south park style.

Problem is you will be the only one seeing the icons.
AND you will have to update the icons.ini file everytime you buy a new player or raise a zombie, assuming you use different names every time.
So there's little point in custom icons, really.

I created the Hellfishes because I only use the *same* 15 names... so they will always work and people will be able to dload them and see them when they spec or when they face me. Teams with variable names will have a very hard time with custom icons... they basically require daily care AND they don't work for others. Not worth the effort imho.

A few custom icons is fine, I started to use them for star players. For example in Synn case, for those two +ST zombie.

But you are right, and in my opinion it's sad that the players aren't given more control over the icons they use ... Like:
- Team's custom icons for given positionals and names (atm, you can only select from the race+position or the name of the player)
- Being able to change icons during the game, like when you want to stress a +ST your opponent has
- Being able to use the icons your opponent has (almost like portraits at the moment, but should be able NOT TO as well if you find them confusing)

I talked a bit with Falesh, he mights apply this idea for his LRB5 client. Wich is damn nice imho, that will give the online bloodbowl experience more fluff.

For my own team I dont mind modifying my own team, for particular starplayers in the leagues I play in I dont mind custom icons as it does highlight a particular skilled or nasty player.
