Not any of your own, but "some" - yep, I have that same sort of feeling all the time!

Last season I won my first game in non-AQ, then went 0-4-3, so I'm already doin' better! Go Aggroes!

Heya, sports fans! Howie Duyn here! Got the preliminary NCBB out-of-conference report for ya...

With the pre-in-conference series of three OoC games all but completed, many teams performed notably, and some newcomers to the AQ conferences had some nice upsets over veteran teams, but only three team shone - and the brightest by far of those not only has the only 3-0-0 record, but won all three of their games by no-contest 2-0 shutouts, and that's the Ohio State Drunk Guys!

Facing the blodge-hell of Amazons, the balanced run-passing game of Humans, and then the mixed strength and speed of Lizards, the bone-crunching Norser attack was led by MA 8 multi-threat Eddie George, +stat monster quarterback Craig Krenzel and a collection of eager frenziers. The Drunks found themselves in a couple tight spots but always seemed to have the coaching or player tools to get them out again. The ball bounced their way more than once, no doubt (especially vs. the Golden 'Stashes!), but with the exception of one very lone, very desperate, and very short-lived skink, no team so much as got the ball across midfield against them, and Ohio State demonstrated great luxury to choose which player made their last score in each game.

This long time veteran enters conference play with a mere 1470 fighting weight, but promises to share headaches for all contenders - if the ball keeps bouncing their way, these drunks may be the team to beat!

Tripled up as close seconds to this team, with the only OoC 2-1-0 records, are Fresno State, in only their 2nd year out of non-AQ, and Notre Dame and Tennessee, both fresh out of non-AQ. The first two teams* faced and beat past-bowl-winners, so altho' those two team have yet to have a winning season, these are good signs of things to come for all three, in a season of few teams with many good signs to boast of so far.

(* Tennessee excelled in non-AQ last year, but data on "bowl winners" is unavailable as of this posting deadline.)

Go Fuzzled Irish, Go Red Wave, Go Volunteered!

Lastly, this reporter wants to give a special nod to what (barring something insane in the remaining two unplayed games) was certainly the highest scoring game of this series, a surprisingly brutal 3-3 shootout between veteran teams Vampirebilt and Oregon that could easily have seen even more scoring. Both teams are 1-2-0 - if either can solve the defense half of the game, they could easily be bowl-bound.

And as a dark footnote, and speaking of "few good signs", the soft-spot in this newscaster's heart started off again as a soft-spot in the schedule, as Texas A&M dropped 2 of their 3 games, squeaking out a 1-0 win after two jaw-dropping routs (0-3 & 1-4). It's damning with faint praise to say they've already won as many as they did last season, so let's just say they better patch the leaks in their offensive and defensive line, or hope that elf-dice roll their way this season, or they'll stay where they are now and were last season, in the basement, where no self-respecting Delf wants to be.

So, on that dark note, signing off for now - until next time - Howie Duyn!

Well, that's not what I remember from the Tourney page this morning - but it's gone now, so we'll never know.

(But Howie hits the black lotus pretty hard sometimes, so... yeah... but I'll take care of it.)

This was the tournament for the first three weeks of the season.

Likewise, the group page is currently up-to-date for the BCS teams; I'll try to update it every week.

Aha! Thanks! - Tennesse was indeed 2-1-0, but ranked "8th" by points, buried so far down I - er - Howie didn't even notice them.

But they've been added now (such as they are, hmmmph.)
;D

Ouch, while Nippon agrees with most of the predictions... it still hurts.

these predictions are totally unbias cause i really dont know much about your teams so i had to browse through the skills each team had and then consider the games they previously played and decide how the casualties might affect the teams next game so on and so on...
Even if I only get half the results correct, It was still fun to try my hand on some game selections and maybe even put a fire under some teams butt to mae the prediction wrong!

This could happen very easily, but Texas has shown both moments of brilliance and of utter, abject, inexplicable failure.

Ag 4 can do anything - whether they will or not is always the question, that the coaches on both sides of the ball ask themselves.

We'll see... Cool
