This topic is from me, and its just to say that im looking to play some games against other low experienced/new players.
The sum total of my bloodbowl experience is this:
4 real life games against 'experienced' players about 4 years ago.(lost all 4)
2 unfinished games against myself on the java client (practice)
1 game against online opposition (lost that too)

So drop me a message if your in the same boat and would like a game.(and maybe one of us can get a win under our belts.) Wink

SInce you are in Academy, I'd suggest you play against a person with tons of experience and ask them to teach you as you play.

Welcome to fumbbl! Hope you enjoy your stay. Don't be discouraged if you start off losing and losing some more, eventually the tide changes. Have fun!

1- Welcome to Fumbbl
2- You will lose a lot. Get used to it and don't let that put you down. I started with a 0/1/19 record on here.
3- Read the rulebook carefully.
4- Read this thread even more carefully.

Look for the 145 club, it's a great place for new players to find their feet.

Oh, and also: A Khemri team is the single worst choice you could pick to learn how to play bb. Get yourself a human team or an orc team.

Not all become better with time like JanMatthys.
Me started with 6/7/7 in the first 20 matches and now it isn't really better with 1/3/16 in the last ones.
But looking on the bright side, the fun keeps great nevertheless.

You might also try to start with elves, because i guess this is the less frustrating race to start with due to all the ball losses you might suffer.
And yes: You will lose - no question: 7/5/17 my oldest "played matches" page!

Oh and yes: the 145ers are nice.

thanks for the swift replys Smile

something that has just happened since i posted that:
i was olaying my second game and doing really well causing some casualties and i even scored a td and look set for another one when my opponant said 'this is a waste of my time and my players and i quit'!
Ive been throught the disconnected procedure, asked him to come back and such, but he started another game and left me in the lurch.
What im wondering is if this is a regular occurance? Do sore losers just quit often?

I've had aboud 5 intentional disconnections in my 1600 games on here.
I happens more if you face new coaches. Just follow the procedure and have him banned.

When you start playing the regular veterans, there's 0% disconnections.

Technical problems may occur sometimes, even when playing with old vets. But they would continue to play as soon as possible. As Jan told, it's almost always a freshling who quits and just plays another match.

hmm: The way to follow now is to contact an admin. I hope you have IRC? If not get it and try to fight yourself through to join the adminchannel.

There you can tell your problem, and there your helped.
But it might take some time.

As the other two said: It didnt happen often. I didnt even know being ABLE to play another game, when you started to play one game with the team.

Well: To me it has happened at least no single time. Normally they conceed.

Welcome!

I'm normally hanging out in the academy channel most weekdays. Myself and the other academy regulars will be delighted to play and assist. If you ask nice, I know I'd be more than happy to drop hints and tips. I'm sure other guys will too. Don't be afraid to ask!
