Customising when NOT using the icons, but the old style circles with letters in it?
i have an orc Lineman named: RUURK THE BLACK ORC
Would really want to have him displayed as a "Bo" (ie. black orc). not the usual "L"
Can this be done? and how? |

Download all the letters, rewrite your icons.ini and it is possible yes 
No idea if it is possible otherwise |

Yeah you can customize the positions.ini, it works quite similar as the icons.ini
You can set the color and picture for the circles there as well. |

You have to denote the team the player is on for it to work. Here's an example from the README file:

With the POSITIONS.INI file you can now customize the letters
that appear on the player icons. The default POSITIONS.INI file
has all the standard teams layed out with the standard letters.
You can edit the POSITION.INI file to customize what letters
appear for each position on each race's roster. The format for
each team is as follows:
[Team race as it appears on HTML roster]
<position 1 as it appears on roster>=<letters to appear>
<position 2 as it appears on roster>=<letters to appear>
...
Each team will have a block like above. Here is a sample from
the default POSITIONS.INI:
[HUMAN]
THROWER=T
CATCHER=C
BLITZER=B
LINEMAN=L
Case only matters in the <letters to appear> sections.
You can even add custom teams like so:
[BARBIE]
KEN=K
DOCTOR BARBIE=Db
BEACH BARBIE=Bb
However the game will be unable to find portrait pictures for
this new team, but that can be overcome by specifying custom
portraits in the team HTML roster.
(See "Displaying custom pictures when moving the mouse over
players")
NOTE: I've only played with 1 and 2 letter positions. More than
2 letter positions may or may not work well. |

Okay, now I'm thinking that by "custom teams" he's referring to things like Space Marines and NOT team names. As if BARBIE is some horrific stunty creation and not failed team fluff.
Since it's looking to the "position" and not the name, I don't think this will work the way we want it to. |

In order for this to work, Skijunkie would need to add a [PLAYERS] functionality to the positions.ini just like with the icons.ini. Right now, you can only customize what appears on the pitch with icons.  |
