Could you help me with some advice on good defensive tactics/tips when defending with orcs vs a fast team (skaven/elfs)?

On the race strategy page I read that the best defence is to make sure to keep the offensive turns of the fast team to a minimum. But if I should face an offence by a fast team, do you have any advice for me?

I am sure there are alot of experienced and very able orc coaches out there who might offer some good advice to a new and puny one such as myself.

Classic 2-1 bash vs fast team:
Make sure they score quickly in the first half, then line em up and smack em down, you score in turn 8 and 16
or
You score in turn 8, make sure they score quickly in 2nd half, then line em up and smack em down and you score in turn 16

Tackle and dirty players help alot.

I generally like to set up compactly--three on the LoS, then probably 6 in the center of the field and 2 on the wings. Setting up like this allows you to commit as many players as possible to where they are attacking (in my experiance, fast teams like to pick a side, then pull a reverse). The biggest thing is not to over-commit, a good coach will reverse faster than you can say "2+ dodge". Always have a player or two covering the other side of the field.

How far back would you have your bliterz when setting up the defence? If you only have two from the start.
And the same question for the black orcs. They seem abit wasted on the line of scrimmage in defence. One square out from the sideline to hold one flank on their own?

Lineorcs are for LOS never put Black Orcs or Blitzers there.. I keep my Blitzers in the back field, as they are your Orcs with pace to react to the offensive attack...

You have more than one lineorc on your starting 11?? Damn, between 4 BoB, 4 Blitzers, a Troll and thrower(s) I never seem to field more than 1 Lineorc and often none at all. So I usually have a Troll and 2 BoB's on my LoS.

But basically what you put there matters less than how you cover your flanks and when you score. With orcs you should do as Lill-Leif said, beat them 2-1.

Blitzer takes Tackle.
Tackler stays back (6 sq?) away from LoS.
Tackler waits... and pounces.

Later, Tackler takes Mighty Blow...

Speaking of tackle skill for blitzerz:

Tackle: General skill Opposing players who are standing in this player's tackle zone are not allowed to use their Dodge skill if they attempt to dodge out of the player's tackle zone, nor may they use their Dodge skill if the player throws a block at them.

Am I correct in asuming that this means that if the blocking die shows the "block unless X has dodge skill" I can pick that die and it will be a block on a player even if he has dodge skill?

There's lots of good advice in there, there's even a bottom section specifically devoted to playing against fast teams.
