Whilst I know that the IRC channel is great for keeping track of when activation starts, and who you'll be playing against, is there a way of finding out these things without IRC?
Blackbox got recommended to me, and I'd like to try it out, but I've got these persistent IRC problems that I can't seem to find a workround for.
I don't really want to randomly activate my team and then not show up for a game because I didn't hear about it (seems pretty bad form!), but it'd be cool to be able too join in the carnage! Is there a private message sent out or something similar?

Activate between 55-00 or 25-30 BBtime. |

..and then the box teams should change from activate to pending.
Then just update your fumbbl page at .00 or.30 and your box team should change from pending to one of them scheduled against NN (and other teams back to activate). Contact NN thru ordinary PM and play. |

In fact to be honest the Box is the best place to play if you have no access to IRC. |

yeah just refresh your team page at :31 and :01 respectively to when you activated and it will show your scheduled opponent if there is one...or will still say pending if you didn't get a draw. If still pending, refresh again at teh next :25 or :55 and it will be reset to the activate option for you. |

Well setting up using pms instead of IRC shouldnt be more unsecure as long as the people playing stays at their comps and checks their pm.
People who dont are annoying though as waiting around for a response that may or may not come is very annoying, but thats more an issue with R I think. Once you have activated you are obliged to play after all, not like R where people just disappear... |

the new pm system is so cool. That even SvenS is competent enough to use it . Hence there is nothing to worry about for you |
