---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey folks, I made some new Skaven for the large pitches. I was getting frustrated because I kept putting my thrower on the line of scrimmage and the head office was about to fire me. What started out as a quick edit to differentiate the thrower better turned into a complete new set of icons.

The icons are based more closely on the miniatures and you will likely notice there is only one pose for each. Why you say?

Well:
A) It seemed to be a waste of effort to do two poses, with one getting little use. This way I could add more detail on each.
B) I like seeing the players in action on the field, not standing around.
C) The white outline actually makes it easier for me to see who my opponent is selecting
D) I'm a lazy git.
E) ...All of the above.

Enjoy!

Rat Ogre (mine mostly knocks himself out on skulls, maybe this will help)

(would be nice if the client automatically recognized mutations and could swap images *hint, hint*. I will try and do some more mutations if people like the icons.)

Storm Vermin

Thrower
(The root of all this evil in the first place, whiny prima donna.)

Thrower, Gutter, and Ogre are good.

However, i don't like linemen and Vermins.
Vermins lack the armor feeling. Especially, we don't notice their helmet.
Linemen are looking at the sky. It's not that good. Their overall position isn't one to play BB.

Don't get me wrong. You did good. But not enough for my skaven love.

Nice very good work, and yeah it would be nice if the client could recognise mutations!

Thanks for the replies.

On the Linerats, I have to disagree somewhat. They are ratmen, not human, and rats by nature keep their noses up quite high, while still looking forward. They tend to raise them to smell things out and when they are aggressive. They are also shorter than many other linemen which would involve looking up. Not sure what you mean by not being in a position to play BB? The current icons are all so similar with arms in the air they get confusing (for me).

I think the Storm Vermin are fairly well armoured for their AV. Helmets maybe could be defined a bit more. Was planning a second SV with a spike helmet.

Is there anyone using these icons or is it a waste to do more similar styled ones for other races?

Looks good over all Smile

Anyway you could remove the white outline around the players?

What would you suggest instead for the animated (selected) state? I've found the outline is really effective against someone else who was using Skaven. I was able to see who they chose very easily and quickly.

I am open to other ideas though.

I added a link in the first post to download the Skaven for those interested. Should have done that before...

Also working on some Orcs. Figure they are sick of being embarrassed by having to use girl's gymnastics uniforms.

Blitzer is almost done, but needs some work...

No Bob or Troll so far. The current large icons are decent so I am in no rush right now.

Up next...
Probably a few more Goblins and the four cheaters along with their star player equivalents.

Thanks! Very Happy

I've got Fungus and the fanatics done and am almost done Nobbla and the Loonies. Just some finishing details and getting the chainsaw to billow smoke while it is running. Also have a pogoer on the go. Hopefully more icons soon.

These are awesome! I use the large pitch/icons exclusively, so these will be a great addition. Now, how do you add them again?

Basically you just need to copy the files into the 'largeicons' folder. There is a read me file in the zip that explains how to add them and make some small modifications to the .ini to get certain ones to work. For the Skaven with mutations you need to add some extra bits in the .ini, but that is explained in the read me too. If you have any issues, let me know and I can help.

For the next batch of icons there is more .ini tweaking to come for the Gobbos so I can also include my largeicons.ini if that would be useful.
