I've got a 13" MAcBook Air, which I love - mainly cos I write in cafes alot.

If I was getting a Macbook mainly for home use, I'd go 17" MacBook Pro.

I do lots of specialized work and will mainly work from home but I want the option to be able to get out of the house during nice weather. I am a true jack of all trades.
I do some writing (comedy/fiction, sports journalism/blogging), composing, film editing, graphic layout and design, acting, directing, refereeing, sales, sound recording and design, antiqueing/collectibles, teaching and whatever else I can do to end a living and pursue my interests. I'm not great at anything (unfortunately) but I'm very diversely talented.
I especially want the freedom of movement for times when I am composing or writing a fictional piece to be able to draw inspiration from my surroundings. I would also like to be able to take my dog to the park and let him run while I am cranking out a less inspirational project instead of keeping the 2 of us cooped up inside on a nice day.
What would you recomend having read that?

Enjoy your mac mate it really is a good buy. I think even Christer have one.
As for Irc I miss hydra irc from my PC days but I found Colloquy to be the best irc client for mac. There are others out there and I realize that this might be a matter of preference.

Anybody else have suggestions?

However the IRC channel doesn´t work. DIdn´t realize there were alternatives Wink
I have just used the Java applet.

I personally use Adium...that's only because I chat a lot on MSN at the same time, and Adium can connect to many different chat services at once. Makes my life easier to have all my "chat"'s on one program.

Hey thats cool. Actually I did not know you could use Adium for IRC. I use it for other chat mainly msn but it unfortunately does not handle Skype Sad .I just tryed it out. but I must say I prefere the interface form colloquy so I think i wil be sticking with that.

Can you have on join commands with adium?

Don't think so. it's very basic...I used to use Colloquy too, but then I found it was just more convenient to use Adium.

I only tend to be in 1-2 channels at once, and it means that if I'm not actively playing, I can chat on msn and irc at the same time, with the same client.

Hi,
any suggestions how to activate the shortcuts for the FFB on a mac?
I tried to pass after walking some squares but I could not pass / handoff after that.
pushing "P" ore "ctrl+p" ore any other combination of key´s does not work ( I also tried "alt", "cmd" and " shift".
Any Ideas?

mmmmhh

i tried two different macs, but nothing happens when i push "p" / "ctrl+p"

The shortcuts only work when i frist activatet a player by clicking with the mouse. Than I got a dropdown menue with al the actions possible. Than i can also push the "p"-key and the ranges are shown for passing, but when I first select mooving and move 1 square I can only moove by clicking with the mouse on the field ore end the turn with "E" but i can not pass or handoff.
