Bloodbowl is, at it's core, a comedy game. So try to laugh when things go wrong.

Nice list! How about:

If you win a game and put it all down to your skill, you learn nothing.
If you lose a game and put it all down to the dice, you learn nothing.

(good for newbies to remember perhaps...) Smile

If your opponent tries a move that needs a 5+ to work and works, he's a fool who plays on his luck.
If you try a move on a 5+ that works, you just knew the odds of a 5+ with a rr.

There is no such thing as luck.

(Fun anecdote: Even before probability maths was invented, people would settle arguments with a coin toss. Not because they knew the 50/50 random chance nature of a coin toss, but because they would deliberately choose a coin with a wise old emperor's head on (lets say Julius Caesar), in the hope that this wise old emperor would make his decision one way or the other from beyond the grave, settling your argument accordingly. It's enjoyable to read those rules, but lets see if an opposite speech works equally well and wich rules would be left afterwards:

1: Its a sport. Try to take it serious or you won't win so much.
2: Winning is fun. Except for those who set themselves those "other" aims.
3. Both sides should have fun.
4.: Knowing the odds makes you a good player.
5: Ignoring the odds won't make you a worse player then you already are.
6: Do the risky stuff first, unless you got a better plan.
7: Try to make many dice rolls, but don't be afraid to also avoid dice rolling.
8: Players mostly survive..
9: 1 in 6 odds of failing does not mean it will fail.
10: Never trust a dwarf.
11: Anything with ag2, lower or too many basher skills counts as a dwarf. Mummies count as dangerous dwarves.
11: One Clawpomb is enough to beat anyone. Two is often overkill.
12: Just because everyone hates elves, doesnt mean they are unbeatable.
13: A good plan can often work.
14: In the abscence of a bad plan, you can still figure out a good plan..
15: If you aren't lucky, just use a good game plan.
16: To get lucky, you should try to mostly take little risks.
17: Failing a long odds move is Nuffle, it's out of your controll.. Making 2 long odds moves and then failing the 2+, thats just gotta be the odds at some point...
18: Nuffle doesn't like funny, and Nuffle HATES funny.
19: I'm the first to do this..
20: Anything can fail, one sixth of the time

Surely the inversion of this one from PC should be:
1 in 6 odds of working does not mean it will fail.

Really? the romans could irrigate, sanatize and medicate large parts of europe but didnt get the simple concept of an equal chance? That sounds improbable.

342. Expect your opponent to go after (block / foul, does'nt matter) your best player, until he's off the pitch. Just as shure as you are going after his best players.

278. Crowd surfing, is just another way to get to meet your fans. Consider it a compliment.

They got the concept. They certainly had gambling and such, which wouldn't have been viable if at least parts of their society didn't. However, they certainly (IMO) didn't have the number system to describe it as a branch of mathematics like we consider it to day.

Actually, didn't Bunnypuncher one time data dissected over a 1000 games and found no coorelation between winning games and anything else....other than luck meter %.

based on his analysis luck does trump positioning.

sorry for ranting. categorical statements about what "people" did and didn't know historicaly just always makes me very sceptical. and as for some folks explaining every thing that happens with "will of god" you don't have to go 2000 years back in time, I can come up with them in my appartment building.
