If you could have any 2nd edition mutations back in the game or even skills which would they be and how would you make them work now?

Or even special rules like assassin etc...

Or special play cards etc from 3rd ed death zone and so on

Very Happy

mages Smile

Could cast a weather roll. We could then debate how broken weather is, which would be novel.

Cant remember any others that we lost

Finger of DEATH!!!!!

One of your opponeets players is randomly killed by the specter of death. Shock and awe...and then everyone remembers we are playing Blood Bowl and starts cheering.

You could induce/buy 2 chain saw players. Bombs and such were available for every race.

Wizards gave between 4 and 6 spells for your players to use.

I allways like the 3ed card that had the dog run onto the field and move the ball d6 in any direction.

Undead teams needed magic points to keep their players up right.

Disenchantment if you did not pay your players.

Rookie "pools" that once they skill up had a chance to go immediatly to star player status. you had to bid on these players.

Mix raced teams galore

No pixel hugging, it was all about Team and coaching.

20 man rosters, 16 active, 4 bench warmers.

Auto subsitution. You could bring men on the field at any time to get back up to 11. SO if you cleared the pitch you litterally cleared his entire team off the pitch.

Refs on the pitch. You could block/foul refs.

Fouling...Blatant or sneaky varieties...One of the best things to bring back to correct fouling in the new rules.

I could go on and on and on....Iam a 2ed guy. For me the best days of Blood Bowl were 2 ED. but alas they are in the past and most coaches now a days could not hack 2 ED Blood Bowl..the carnage would turn their stomach. Make CLPOMB look like a nerf of the rules.

Imagine if you made just one change of the current rules and brought back a 2ED rule.

Allow a team to auto sub players in if they lose a player on the field. Each side has a dug out area on the sideline that they come in on.

It would change the dynamic of the game in a big way. For the better IMO.

Magic Items!
What was totally broken was Bracers of Smashing I think, that made every block a knockdown and injury automatically.
Could only get sent off by the referees but they needed LOS so you screened one and killed the other then its plain sailing for the rest of the game pretty much.
Mixed race teams and spearing were great too.
Really in-depth team management was fantastic.

That actually would be available in the cards. Althought only races to get 2 bombardiers would be those with star bombardier. Chainsaw for instance is 100k card.

page 32 of the 2ED companion rules covers the rules for Chainsaws.

The greatness of 2ed chainsaws...they were an opposed AG check and after a modified roll of 12+ was DEATH!!!!!!!

and then came the fun part...which ever team got the head back to their dug out received a free reroll!!!!

Bring back 2nd Ed snotlings... each drive you could sneak on d3 (or ws it d6) extra players as the ref couldnt keep track of the little guys as they all look the same. The roster was max 32 snotlings.

And the snotling pump wagon, which could gain SPPs from running off the pitch causing crowd CASs
