I like Painstates argument. I would much rather have fend than Diving Tackle.

I clicked tackle ... but Pro is better by far! Here is an example of a successful big guy with Pro:

Remember grab counters fend as well, in a way Smile

edit: what i mean is, you can still PO someone that has fend, if u have grab, since u can place them next to you (you can in return counter this with sidestep)

PainState makes a very good case for fend...

Pro is good, I remember being a complete noob on here and my lizard team was *carried* by my block, pro, break tackle kroxigor. It is however boring. So I'm crossing that off.

It's between fend and DT for me. Love DT generally but this guy gets fouled alot and has a worrying propensity to getting cas'ed when he does.

Think I'll go through a couple of replays once I've got a bit more time, see which of the two would have been better.

Cheers for the replies everyone!

No love for sidestep? Could be useful for hitting stuff on the sidelines and generally being a pain when marking cages.

I can see the merits of fend here. Fend vs bashers DT vs agility. SS migth be a bit of good against both

Taking sidestep when you have stand firm? Sounds like a waste.

Diving tackle doesn't see you fouled as often as piling on does, as it causes a turnover in many cases, allowing you to stand back up (or protect him with others if he lies bonehead)
Even if he does get fouled, he's AV9 thick skull, giving ok odds unless he's swarmed and dp'd.

He gets fouled alot as it is and has a peculiar propensity to leaving the pitch as a result (even with a +1/2 armour modifier and thick skull). I've gone with diving tackle in the end so he's a solid road block that I can park in front of cages and say 'deal with it'. We shall see how it pans out...
