Hey SkiJunki, have you seen this?

https://games-contest.dev.java.net/

It's a contest sponsored by SUN and other companies for games wholly developed using Java. Are you eligible? The rules (from what I read) didn't say anything about "ported" board games. Your game has a lot of bells and whistles like networking and stuff...maybe you should enter.

I am so glad that I'm not the only one who saw this and thought of it.

Briefly looking at the rules for the contest, I found this:

Quote:

The Game must be Contestant's original work and Contestant must have all necessary rights to it. Modifyimg, enhancing or altering a thid party's pre-existing work does not qualify as an "original work". Contestants are expressly prohibited from violating any third party intellectual property rights or from engaging in unlawful conduct in developing the Game or submitting it to this Contest.

So I really doubt JavaBBowl qualifies.

Quick, make a few cosmetic changes and call it Skyjunkie Bowl.

Yeah I didn't even bother looking knowing that sometime like that was definitely going to be in the rules. But 50 grand would be nice. Let me know when you gather it up Chappy and I'll give out a PO BOX to mail it to. Heck, you can even take the shipping fee out of the 50k. Smile

Heck, tell GW they get 50% of the take if you win, as long as they authorize your use of their concept. 25K better than doodley-squat right? Of course, once you do win, they'll problably try to get the full 50k...unless GW is one of those inexplicably generous corporations that we've all heard so much about... Rolling Eyes

I'm probably going to get persecuted for saying this but if I were you Ski i'd sell the program to Games Workshop, offer my services and charge mugs like me a $20 dollar annual fee.

With the marketting power of Games Workshop this program could be massive.

Why mug a homeless guy? Surely someone with a home would have more money?
