Do you want to win?

Do you want to win your games in Blackbox?

Have you considered minmaxing?

Look no further and take on maxmaxing, the current approach to gain the advantage in Blackbox!

Maxmaxing is the approach where you make your team to have maximum amount of useful TV, target size is over 2000k. It works by giving you more varied matches as there are no teams with higher or similar TV as your team. The scheduler then tries to pair you to anyone who is left.

Christer has explained how rookie protection works, and it works well. There is a pipeline for new teams to attain about 1500k TV while playing mostly against similar TV new teams. This means that minmaxing is not very efficient to gain advantage anymore.

The main population you get to schedule against are about 1500-1800k. If your team TV is widely outside normal range, your suitability score decreases very much. This means your teams match does matter very much to the round total suitability. The scheduler has most to gain by pairing the normal teams against each other, leaving extra low TV teams to fight against maxmaxed teams.

Minmaxing no longer works as it did before scheduler update. With minmaxed team, you do not anymore gain advantage to play against newer coaches or newer teams. The economic incentive is gone - there is no easy lunch there.

With maxmax you get to play to win. Either the scheduler gets you a super-easy low TV minmax team to play against, or you just have larger TV than your opponent with midsize teams. If you want to win, maxmax!
