Hmm...it'll be a long time before this sees the light of day in FUMBBL - SkiJunkie is still adding stuff for the LRB v3, and this requires far more changes than that, including in-game freebooting and an altered kick-off table.

As for the rules themselves, I still have to digest them, but I do see a number of flaws, and I don't see rules for secret weapons (I've probably overlooked them). The whole economy of the game has been altered entirely, for one thing, and with it the Apothecary costs.

Some of the economy rules actually made sense. It looks like GW are attempting to remove some of the randomness from the game, which is a good thing.

Human catcher is losing dodge, and Bull Centaurs (and all big guys) lose G access. Bad news for us who likes to coach humans and CDs if it is implemented...

Hmm

"However, no characteristic may ever be increased by more than 2 points over its starting value. Any additional increases ar lost and the Star Player roll is wasted."

"However, if the Star Player roll was a double (ie, 1,1 or 2,2 etc), then the coach may ignore the result rolled on the Star Player Roll table (even if it was a characteristic increase) and instead may take any skill they like for the player."

Great fun rolling your third or fourth +AG, or +MA (6,4) Wink

I'll look forward to hearing the flaws.

Weapon players are now directly on the new team lists.
Weapons are now listed as skills in the skills document (the description of the Secret Weapon skill is there as well (they only play for one drive))

Some weapons have been just replaced with BB skills.

IE the Blunderbuss player no longer has a weapon with special rules. The player just has Hail Mary Pass to mirror the effect of the Blunderbuss.

I'll do my best to view the different boards and collect the typos for quick fixes.

Another example is the Take Root RC is missing from the Skills document. It was supposed to have the text for the new onpitch version.

wow, cant wait to see the on-pitch take root, but the 50k freebooted apoth is an interesting change, it looks like an apothecary is going to be a luxury and youre going to have to live with a lot more injuries on your team

the new special weapon players too, i dont think id ever use a chainsaw or bomb player on a dwarf team, doesnt really fit imo

it also looks like winning with a stunty team is going to get a lot less viable too, no more block/tackle trolls or trees clearing your way so your stunties can feel a bit safer

I only briefly skimmed through the pdfs but did anyone put any consideration into an alternate format? Don't get me wrong, I love pdf (considering the alternative is usually .doc files <shudder>) but why is it necessary for plain text documents?

I know the folks at fanatic don't have the benefit of infinite resourse but a simple database and scripting (asp in this case) would do the same thing (actually it would look even better with the basic site-wide style sheets) and be much easier to update and search.

Not a demand, just a thought for your IT guy(s?) there, Galak.

I would be nice if the changes in the team list would be outlined in red just like the other changes...

Where is "but the 50k freebooted apoth is an interesting change" in the LRB 3.0??

It says it's permanent, unless you mean for divx

We'll get the typos fixed guys ... sorry ... these documents have been changed so many times since it first appeared in early January that it doesn't surprise me that a few errors made it through proofreading.

List of errors found so far:

+++ 1. LEAGUES doc, page 4: A team that concedes a match must give up its MVP; the winning coach gets TWO MVPs, not three. ++++

+++ 2. TEAM LISTS doc, page 11: Count Luthor von "Drakenbork" will play for "Vampire Count" teams. Luthor's name is spelled wrong and his stats should be 6/5/4/8 not 6/2/3/7 ... the Vampire Counts reference is not an error ... as the Vampire Counts and Ogre team will be coming to the Vault soon.

+++ There may be another error on p11 of the LEAGUES doc. Regarding the winnings rolls, the rules state that the winning team gets just as much as the losing team in the event of a tie roll. ...... ..... The 'tie' means a tied match, not a tied roll. I'll make this clear when I update the files. ++++

+++ 3. SKILLS doc. Take Root change is missing:
Take Root (Racial Characteristic):
Before any action other than going from stunned to prone, roll a D6. On a 2, the player may take his action as normal. On a 1, the Player "takes root". For the rest of the drive, his MA is considered 0, he may not Go For It or use any skill/trait that would allow him to move out of his current square. The player may block adjacent players without follow-up.

+++ 2.5 TEAM LISTS.
Human Catcher should have Dodge
High Elf Lion Warriors are only 90k (they are listed at 100k)

I'll try to keep this list up to date as I hear about the stuff that are truely typos.

nice, i like the on pitch take root, that will make my fairy team a bit safer Very Happy also, i like the fact that we can give the MVP to who needs it most, or for fluffy coaches, who did the best in the game

50K for a freebooted apothecary is harsh. (I considered stronger language but I do not want to be banned Wink )

Makes regenerating teams even better.

Is this on purpose?

Apart from that the lot seems ok at first glance, I really like that general access has been removed for all ST5 players. Block should be special for those players indeed.

I have doubts about Bull Centaurs losing G access but I may be biased as a CD player. Very Happy

Well as a balancer it seems CD rerolls are down to 50K in those rules.

Still going to miss block on BC's though. Thankfully Mummies also lose it.
