I think stat freak Ogres could do it. Enough Guard and they can out-muscle any team, they can all live long enough to be stars, pump your rerolls for the tournament and spike up around 2500 TV, on a team with an AG 4 ball carrier Ogre and a solid ST 6 blitzer, enough Block to get by, and great 1TTD potential with just a couple skills on a green thing (Catch, Sure Feet, +MA) and a Strong Arm in the team.

You'd have to have a lucky draw, not hit too much Claw and hold the team together, same for everyone though. You meet the big Chaos and Chorf teams early, you're not going to win it no matter who you are.

According to the Major Statistics (stats updated after FUMBBL Cup 2514) many of the forlorn races have actually played a number of finals:

Quote:
FUMBBL majors’ finalists (races, including winners and runner-ups)
Orc 17
DE 15
WE 11
CD 9
Dwarf 9
Skaven 9
Chaos 9
HE 5
Lizardmen 3
Amazon 2
Khemri 2
Nurgle 2
Pact 2
Elf 1
Necro 1
Ogre 1
Undead 1

I'm not sure under which ruleset are this presences, but Lizards with 3 final appearances and khemri and pact with 2 each seem contenders. Necros and UD have also shown up, and Ogres, as I mentioned earlier, did win under LRB4 rules, but certainly won't under CRP.

I am confident Undead could win a major.

It certainly wouldn't be easy, but they do have an advantage that the rookie version of their players are decent. Losing players along the way makes it harder but is not as much of a disadvantage as it is with other teams.

They are also quite tv efficient so can make use of inducements and have some ok stars.

Well, the ones who have made it to multiple finals before, obviously have the bext chances of doing it again... So, on that basis its hard to look beyond Pact/Lizards/Khemri - although of course Humans recently showed the error in that theory.

OGRES

I know they don't really stand a chance BUT if you were going to try really hard to do it how would you go about it?

I reckon: Run two Ogre teams. One FILLS THE GRID and gets you experience playing against all different races, choosing Star+ coaches to play against.
The other team PICKS LIKE HELL, recycles players (and the team if needed), until you get all ogres to super star with at least 2 doubles each, some stats, 2 dp and an ag4 snot.

When the team is ready you park until the softest R tourney comes along and sacrifice your first born to nuffle.

Some good points here but I have found doubles are way more important than Stats. All block, at least 2 tackle and one sure hands for a minimum.

I would add that getting up to 2500tv is fine, but I would aim a little lower, say 2300, and have enough bankroll to induce a wizard every game if you are going to be facing one.

Is it a joke? If yes, the it is well executed, and thumbs up. I always chuckle when I imagine ogres picking up the ball 3 times a game with success. (I expect the wizard to pop the ball.)

I always thought that was a grandfathered Ogre team with 12 ogres and they won after the Box converted to CRP? When did the CRP switchover happen?
