@sainthoropee: After carefully reading page 11 several times, I'm pretty sure that standing up is not intended to be considered part of the movement action, but something which much be done before a movement action can be taken. In particular, the wording "at a cost of three
squares of his movement when he next takes an Action." implies that the move action is something which begins after standing up, not before.

Since hypnotic gaze is done at the end of a movement action, the interpretation that you stand up before you take a movement action would prevent you from using hypnotic gaze while prone dispite it being an extrordinary skill.

so, you could stand up, wasted 3 points of movement, move 0 squares and then HG.

Not possible to HG from prone because you need to end the move action to use HG, and to do so, you need to stand up.

Yeah, order of events in the Piling On skill is wrong. Hehe. You're explicitly "standing adjacent" while you use PO, and only go prone after the re-roll is resolved.

But the rules for standing up from prone are pretty clear, in that you can't do anything before you stand up. HG is a used skill, it's "doing something". Similarly, there's no explicit rule that you can't foul or block from the ground (just the general rule), and you can use a chainsaw to block or foul, which is an extraordinary skill.

That surely doesn't mean you can chainsaw block and foul from the ground without standing up, because the general rule still applies that you can't do anything before standing up.

Chainsawing from the ground should always result in -MA for injuries as you hack at their ankles ^^

edit: I guess this is why the OP called it hipnotic gaze too - you can only gaze below the hips whilst prone Smile

The NAF clarifications are all following rulings given by Galak. Some of them are a bit rules lawyer, but do follow the rules. They may be different from the client.

Surely Hypnotic Gaze is an action so cannot be done from prone, unless getting up to do it. Galak's logic seems flawed there. Thick skull is not an action or requiring the player to do anything.

"The player may use hypnotic gaze at the end of his Move action on an opposing player who is in an adjacent square".

Even if HG from prone would be enabled you would still need a bloodlust roll to do it as you must declare a move action as well as HG.

Solved already. But indeed, it was one of those hard edge cases. Works as intended. Smile

OK!!

Thanks, so will be great if in the naf clarifications maybe change this? (because is Galak himself who say this https://www.fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=437385#437385)

But when Galak himself says that it's wrong, maybe the NAF should take another look?

IMHO it should be changed that you can't gaze when prone.
