Does intercepting a bomb provide experience points to the player ?

No, it only rewards you with a chance to fumble the bomb.

Or a chance to decimate the opposition with their own toys (and a single one down = turnover).

They get to experience either the joy of causing havoc by lobbing a bomb back at the opposition players or the pain of having their guts blown out. That is all.

I love it when a low AG player intercepts the bomb (especially in coverage). They feel so good up until the moment they realize that they have to chuck it somewhere.

I still remember fondly the time my Troll not only caught the bomb but successfully threw it at the cage. Ball carrier killed(apo to MNG), 1 KO, 1 prone Surprised

Is it just me or are bombs much, much easier to intercept than passes?

It can be intercepted and it can be caught if the target square is occupied. So yes, I think the other team getting control of the bomb is more common than an interception.
