*** Blasensky from the CoS Main Draw ***

Welcome back, Blood Bowl fans! The last match in the qualifier phase has been played and indeed, four Chaos teams entered have been enough to conquer the Orc qualifier. No one pities a greenskin but in that particular game one could have been tempted… We're now waiting for the tourney administration to confirm when the main draw will be made. It's an interesting field of contenders, no really big names there, neither teams nor coaches, so the second row is getting a shot at glory. The only coach who has a Major victory on his record is vicius, whose Vampires certainly have it in them to add another, if they can keep the Blood Lust in check for three more games. But let's look at the teams one by one.

Sons of Brutus
1820k Humans, coached by Dunenzed, record: 973 (457/186/330)
These guys need no introduction, probably the most legendary Human team in the Box and by far the most experienced squad in the field, although the line-up they brought is pretty vanilla and relatively lightweight. They have a lot of fan support but will need a good draw to survive the next round(s).

Godzillah
1420k Nurgle with one Skill pending and one Nurgle Warrior MNG, coached by CroixFer, record: 27 (15/5/7)
Well we've already reported a lot about these Nurgz, the youngest team in the field, who did everyone else a favour by prevailing in a Qualifier stacked with monster teams and multiple-Major-winning coaches. In the main draw, nobody would bet on them to win the next match, so that's basically business as usual to them. Let's see if they can manage another upset.

Schnucken
2200k Chaos, coached by Ignaz, record: 141 (70/29/42)
Now we get down to business. These guys are a hardened, Majors-experienced squad of no-nonsense Chaos. 2 CPOMBers and some stats thrown in the mix, including an ST6 Chaos Warrior, certainly make them a hard match-up for anyone. But can they stand up to the pressure of being the favourite in almost any draw? They will be especially wary of the Elves (who will be bringing a Wizard) and the Vampires, who can easily beat them if the Cas don't come quick.

Incoming Nightmare
2050k Chaos Dwarves with a roster of 12 and a Skill pending, coached by latulike, record: 207 (123/23/61)
If anything, these Chaos Dwarves are more hardened, more experienced and even meaner than the Chaos. We've seen them make good runs in Majors before, but can they go all the way to the top? They've brought 3 CPOMBers but their weakness might be their lack of AG4 to get them out of a tight spot.

Mektummys
2160k Dwarf, coached by mekitsh, record: 31 (18/4/9)
Many Dwarves weren't happy about being paired with Necros in the Qualifier, but these guys didn't care. Sporting a phalanx of Guard and MB with some SF added into the mix, even the Claw teams will not take them lightly. On top of that they bring two AG4 Runners, but the really interesting thing about them is their Deathroller. Their inexperience in the Majors could be their greatest weakness, but it hasn't stopped them so far.

Woeful Wonders
2010k Dark Elf, coached by tmoila, record: 79 (50/7/22)
There were some really pumped-up teams in the Dark Elf qualifier but the one that emerged victorious is really rather plain. Maybe just a little too plain to go all the way, considering also that Dark Elves haven't won anything big in quite some time. But coach tmoila is one of the most experienced Box Elf coaches and he knows that Elves can always win any match on a good day, and it's just 3 more to go.

Rise Like a Phoenix II
2000k High Elf, coached by Verminardo, record: 39 (22/6/11)
Another relatively young team, but they've made their marks in last year's Majors already. Their most notable player is an ST4 AG5 Blitzer, and they are the only team in the field that has a half-decent passing play option. Just like their dark brothers, they are hoping that their armours will be good and their Snakes will be few, so they might beat any opponent, provided that they don't do anything silly out of stage nervousness like they've been sometimes known to do when playing to a big audience.

Pro Vamps
2260k Vampire, coached by vicius, record: 53 (31/7/15)
Last not least, the already mentioned Pro Vamps are the biggest hope of the ARR fans. After the New Vamps on the Blood proved last year that a Vampire team can indeed go all the way, this squad is hoping to repeat the feat, and as ever, the only thing that can stop them is themselves. Being the heaviest team in the draw, with 5 developed Vampires and one of them AG6, they certainly have it in them to beat anyone else.

*** Blasensky from the CoS ***

Tension is mounting before the draw. The Nurgz of Godzillah have been able to get a preparation match in and now weigh in at 1820k with the MNG back and a brand new Beast. Still nothing close to the abominations that entered the Nurgle qualifier, but nothing to take lightly either...

**Breaking News**

The main draw will take place tonight but the officials from the CoS have been seen scratching their heads.

It appears that only 5 of the finalists have shown up so far....

Have the qualifiers taken a mighty toll on the teams in question?
Have they got lost on the way to register for the main event?
Are they simply too scared to show up?

Only time will tell.

Remember ALL finalists must apply to the main group to be eligible to play in the CoS main draw.

After looking at the bracket with some serious thought, the coach of the Dark Elven team feels like his guys are into some rough ride before facing off some soft titty-slapping cotton-ball team in the absolute final game.

Or then surprise Deathroller ends their ride next game. With a long sigh he turns to rest and think how to psych the team for the next game...

(So, it is drawn.)

Haha, the grass is always greener on the other side. You're clearly too far away to see the teeth of these vampires. They look sharp!

Hehe luckily they only bite their own! I'm clearly happy not to be facing those Dwarves any time soon, though I don't think the surprise Nurgle will be an easy game either.

Surprise Nurgle sounds pretty disturbing. Not great for elves.

But after Blasensky described your team as the only one having a half decent passing play option you were never going to be paired with anyone else.

Praise Nuffle, the funniest of all funny buggers.

Too true! Wink Plus, CroixFer has done some amazing coaching throughout the tourney. But it's a Major quarter final so can't really expect an "easy" draw. Smile

Good thing about everyone considering you the cinderella team is that you play without pressure.
That has been true for 4 games in a row. Let's hope Nuffle is in the mood again Wink

*** Blasensky from the CoS ***

Alright Blood Bowl fans, the Crown of Sand 2516 has been drawn! And to the delight of fans and contenders alike, the two big nasty killers have been paired first round. Schnucken vs. Incoming Nightmare! Heavyweight CPOMB Slaughterfest!! Er… wait… looking at that roster… what's going on? These Chaos Dwarves aren't Incoming Nightmare at all! It's Love Boat, the runner-up of the CD Qualifier. Uh-oh, someone's gonna cry murder after this. We still remember the outrage after the Rabbid Ruffians missed the main draw in last year's Lustrian Challenge… stay tuned for the latest developments!

So, in the upper bracket, Schnucken seem to be the favourite right now, while in the lower bracket, the Pro Vamps smile a toothy smile about the draw. Looks like these two are set to meet in the final, but many favourites have fallen already in this tourney and I see no reason to expect anything else for the round of the final 8…

*** Blasensky from the CoS *** Excluxive ***

Blood Bowl fans, I've been out all night investigating after the mysterious disappearance of Incoming Nightmare for you. Finally a withered old Skeleton told me over a glass of ancient wine that he saw them head out of town for a training camp. So I grabbed a camel and rode out to the canyon, where indeed the Nightmare were camped for some last minute practice to improve their skills. They were under the impression that they had filed all the necessary paperwork for being included in the draw. I have to admit I did not want to be the bearer of the bad news so I just wished them luck and went on my way.

Back in the main camp I learned that appearantly the team had not reported as "ready to play" to the authorities. A messenger was sent to the training camp the night of the draw but did not reach them in time. He was later found in a ditch with a smashed knee. A Love Boat spokesman could neither confirm nor deny any involvement of Love Boat players or fans with the unfortunate accident.

"It's a shame", one of the coaches in the main draw who does not want to be named commented. "All this bureaucracy is killing the sport. And what's more important, Love Boat will not be killing as many Schnucken as Incoming Nightmare would have!"
