Well, FUMBBL fans I have arrived at the second stop on the ranked majors scene. Next up is the Ulthuan Invitational. Once again FUMBBL takes over the island and make the High Elves all upset and disturbed by the common rabble that follow Blood Bowl.
I did a one week stint at a rehab center after the Warpstone Open, Iam confident I will be able to go at least 8 weeks before I relapse this time.
The UI has a unique format for their tournament. The qualifiers are split between the light and dark. So the bashers and ballers are split for this major. So, if you like to elf ball and do not want to face those Chaos or Nurgle scumm in qualification, this is the major for you.
So, get you teams applied!!!!

The Ulthuan Invitational Light Qualifiers are for the following races: Amazon, Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, High Elf, Human, Lizardman, Norse, Slann and Wood Elf. There is a Team Value (TV) minimum for this tournament of 1650 TV. Teams will be given a spot in descending TV order (highest TV teams first).

The Ulthuan Invitational Dark Qualifiers are for the following races: Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact, Dark Elf, Goblin, Khemri, Necromantic, Orc, Rotters, Skaven, Undead, Underworld, Vampire and Ogre. There is a Team Value (TV) minimum for this tournament of 1650 TV. Teams will be given a spot in descending TV order (highest TV teams first). Only teams from the [R] division may apply.
Also, the UI is very strict on # of applicants. IF qualifiers have over flow the teams will be sorted by TV highest to lowest, so, some teams may not get in. No 1000TV flings or gobos in this one.

After a bad run in the Warpstone its time to set sail for the islands of the highelfs. The combination of warpstone infused beer and another trip to the Bloodsea Bucaneers apotecarywing for some nice steroids have pumped up the lads to unseen proportions. The Boys in the Hood are ready! |

During the cruise over the ocean there were some serious drinking going on. When the lads woke up they realised they had been signed to promotion game against Uusiverikulho who were on the same cruise. Coach Diddyboy have no clue how this came about. The game ended with a solid win but two of our brightest stars was injured and one of the lads got buried at sea. Luckily we have a few days to rest and get back in shape before the main draw. |

#2 Did you check to make sure you are applied? Look at you main page and in the group section you will see Ulthuan Invitational, either light or dark qualifier. If you see that you are good.

Ulthiuan Invitiationl XII Pickers challenge Sponsored by the Altdorf Book and Casino.
Hello FUMBBL fans, maniacs and addicted gamblers. It is time to disclose the pickers challenge for the UI.
Over the many years of covering majors "we" haved tried many forms of the pickers challenge. Some are fun, some are boring and some are just odd. In order to bring you the best possible pickers challenge I have decided that we will from this point forward always use the best and most fun pickers challenge of them all. The FUMBBL Cup format where we will be making picks off a big board of games, every round with scores updated by rounds, speculation bets and the gripping survivor pool.
It requires a lot more work but the work makes it so much more fun for the fans and the coaches in the tournament. It keeps fans engaged in the tournament and makes the UI thread that much more fun to read.
Also I have decided to add some improvements on the already awesome format. I will start up a PM chain for all the coaches in the pickers challenge. That way I can communicate with you on what is going on and remind coaches through another way that the next round of picks is up and running.
AB&C Pickers challenge: UI XII
Format
Each round the pickers will predict the winner of 5 matches and make a survivor pool pick, so 6 picks in total.
The UI is split between the Dark side and the LIght side.
Each round I will choose 4 matches in the Dark Qualifier and 4 matches in the Light Qualifier.
You will pick 2 of the 4 matches in the Dark side and 2 of the 4 matches in the light side. You will then get one wild card pick that you can choose from either one.
Then you will rank your picks from 5 , 4 , 3 ,2 and 1. Those are how many points you get for that match if you are correct. SO, you want your stone cold, I cannot lose pick to be your 5 pt pick and your, I really have no clue, just throwing a dart on a board pick to be your 1 pt pick. Thus the maximum points you can earn in each round from just picks is 15 points, perfect card.
Survivor Pool
The goal of the survivor pool is to be the last coach standing. How you are eliminated from the survivor pool is you make an incorrect pick. If you pick wrong you are eliminated from the survivor pool BUT NOT THE PICKERS CHALLENGE, this is a side challenge game.
At any point if there is just one coach left, who has made all correct picks, wins, regardless of what round it occurs in.
The winning coach of the survivor pool will get 15pts.
When the last round of the survivor pool is declared and there are still multiple coaches who are still alive at the end of the round, all of them will be declared the winner and all pickers will receive 15 pts.
Passes for missed rounds
If you do not make picks for a round that is ok. You will get 2 passes during the pickers challenge. The AB&C "the Peoples Picks" will be your default score for a round you missed. You will get the same points as the AB&C.
IF you miss more than 2 rounds of the challenge you are disqualified.
Speculation Bets
Each round there will be 2 or 3 speculation bets for bonus points.
They will be in the vein of Pick the perfect card, no missed picks or How many Total CAS will be caused in the 8 matches. Each round there will be new speculation bets. These speculation picks will be worth 5 or 10 points depending on the level of skill or luck is needed to make the correct pick.
What does a pickers card look like?
Here is what the card will look like for you new guys to this.
You will just need to copy this, paste it into word pad or some such program, fill in the blanks and repost on the thread to lock in your picks.

You must pick 2 matches from the Dark side group and 2 from the Light side group and 1 wild card pick, either group. Then select one match as your survivor pool match.

Blood Sea Buccaneers pull into port, they are set and ready for the UI.
They turn to starboard to line up with the dock but there is some ship with a single sail sitting right in the middle of their berth!!!!!
"Hey, you loutz!!! Move that dingy, NOW!!!!"
some garbled yelling comes flying back at them from the dock. The Bucs can see guys unloading the ship
"What did they say?"
"No clue captain but I think that one guy just gave us the middle finger and that other dude just " mooned" us."
"Oh, really?"
The Bucs keep coming, the deck hands ready to stop the ship at the dock.
People on the dock start yelling and waving their hands. It dawns on them after a few moments the Buccaneers are planning on not stopping but ramming the ship that is in the berth.
BOOM!!!!!! CRASH!!!!!!!!!! OH, THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!
The Buccaneers war galleon blows the single sail ship up into a thousand shards, and sends it to a watery grave under their kiel. The Buc decks hands deftly throw the ropes onto the dock and the captain brings the galleon in nice and easy into the berth.
That was when the eruption happened!
The dock master is yelling curses at them in elvish and there seems to be a Human Blood Bowl team yelling at them with bloody murder on their minds. The Bucs look at each other, don their gear and hard charge down the gang plank onto the dock and lay into the British Irish Lions. It, seems they took offense at the Buccanners sinking their ship in port. Typical yankees, no respect for the law of the sea.
Buccaneers dismantle the Irish Lions tossing them off the dock into the sea and laughing as they flounder around in the water trying to find a ladder up to the dock.
Bucs pay off the Dock master with a bag of coin and stride into town. Fans surround them cheering and waving their Buc T-shirts over their heads.
WE HAVE ARRIVED at the UI and are ready to take some skulls. |
