What about capping the max TV gap at 500 TV for Black Box draws?
Alternatively instead of 500 TV it could be a %, like the 33% of the TV of the team with the lowest TV.

It's better to play without that TV gap at all if possible.

Activate multiple teams at various TV ranges if you don't like those high TV gap matches. The scheduler can only work with the ingredients that it is given.

For great TV gaps you can play in the majors.


I feel like you need one of every team type, distributed across TVs without managing their TV too much and then you should get more fair matches with less gap.

I'm in a 1000 game sprint doing just that and you know how many inducements have been given up or taken since I started? None.

I have activated 5 teams this evening, from TV 1200 to TV 1500 and my TV 1330 Slann got matched vs a 2110 Nurgle team.
I well know that activating multiple teams increases the chances of a fair match but there should be a cap anyway, and I activated 5 teams, not just 1.
A TV 500 would not break the scheduler but it would reduce the waste of time of a huge TV mismatch.

Over TV 1500 the game starts to break, I'm not going to play at higher TV if I can avoid it.
I like to play in the range where my own skill still matters.

I'd rather to have a balanced match than a shot for glory, especially in a supposed competitive division.
Moreover CR doesn't take into account the TV gap wins, so at the end of the day you have more to lose than to win.

You're putting constraints on yourself that results in frustration given a known possibility of outcomes.

Why is 2000 vs 1500 enough better than 2110 vs 1500 to potentially reduce the number of drawn games, and of successful activations? Why 500 difference, and not 510? Or 637, or 12?

I just know that clawpomb, stat freaks and other skill stacks make the game less interesting and competitive.
Not all teams are mechanical able to perform well at any TV, so I try to avoid the TV where matches are nonsensical.
My Slann vs Nurgle was a waste of time.
Time is too precious to waste it in TV gap mismatches.
If you like to play TV gap matches fine for you, I'd rather to avoid them if possible and TV 500 is still a huge TV gap, I'm not asking to play ONLY perfectly TV matched games.

500 TV allows to induce Morg and a babe or a merc lino.
It's arbitrary but still better than playing a 730 or 1100 TV gap.

I've outlined a roadmap that has so far, in 14 games resulted in no inducements taken or given. You'll have to compromise some part of your rationale to achieve another part of your rationale.

You don't care about playing balanced games, so we just talk different languages.
If you like to play at any TV good for you, I don't want to feed clawpomb teams with my teams and on top of that wasting 1 hour of my time playing a not interesting game.
