No need to generlise it man. Im Portuguese, and i pointed the spanish concessions to Brownrob in the first place. Ive alredy lost my first game, getting me out of the tourney... I thought about the concession when my team was bashed to hell in the beggining of the second half... I was playing an austrian and I wondered if he would get more than 5 spps if i didnt conceed... Then i remembered the money and didnt conceed.
Kinkiwinky if your conceed was at the end of the game like someone pointed it out, there is no reason to conceed when ur team is bashed... Your getting kicked out of the tourney alredy... |

And somehow I figure we won't be seeing many teams in the EURO 2004 stop playing and leave the field just because they're down 4-1 with 5 minutes to go or they can't win their group. But then again maybe that has nothing to do with this. |

We cannot compare BB to football, they are professional and earn tons of money, they cannot afford leaving a game.
But if you know you won't win in any way, you team has benn bashed and know that the tourney is over for you in the first game, i could understand the forfeit.
If my first opponent wouldn't have conceded my gutter runner would have now more than 0 spp. Maybe is not so great winning by forfeit. I would have prefered him to keep playing, i could have get a lot more spp. |

i don't like the conceded games either mojo but i think you are defenitely taking it too far. no need to talk about an entire country like this because of the behaviour of a couple of people. |

I have to agree totally with borderline, lots of concedes smells like cheating.
So the rule is: If you can´t win, concede as late as possible and let your winning opponent make lots of TDs, lots of passes, and lots of casualties.
Great, this is the way to go. Why don´t we swedes just decide which team has the greatest chance of winning and help them all the way.

I think you have it down Mnemok. That must be the rule for fair tournament play. I just hadn't realized until now. 
And somehow I figure you would argue that Skaven have the best shot at making it through...hehe 
Oh, and if I'm losing in the late part of my next game, any concede will be purely coincidental. No cheating. No, no. Not from me. |

He, he, depends on the outcome of the first match borderline.
I think I made a small mistake in creating the team, like meeting Norse, not the optimal choice.

I actually have a solution to the problem of cheating in this tournament.
(Maybe only this tournament.)
Check in which turn the match was conceded.
Remove the extra money and the extra MVP. (Needs some hardhitting admin here)
Problem solved, the only ones suffering from this are the poor sod winning the game.
But since the other team have lost so badly it (the game) can´t be turned around the winner probably
have his/her fair share of spps already.
And the show goes on....... |
