Hmm clay there is a minor typo in the wording on the main page

THE CONFERENCES
Professional level Blood Bowl at it's best, the Conferences host the best teams in the land barring only the mighty Premier teams themselves. There is one thing and one thing only that goes through the small minds of the players in this Division... promotion to the Premier...

Gateways to the Premiership, the Conference Divisions host the SWL's up and coming teams.
Sitting in the SWL hierarchy just below the Premier Division there are two Conference Divisions, the SouthWest Conference and the SouthEast Conference. Both operate, as does the Premier itself, as Round Robin Tournaments with 8 teams apiece. The winner at the end of the season from each of the Conferences will promote to the Premier for the following Season at the expense of the 5th and 6th placed Premier teams, who will then each join one of the conferences.

Should read 7th and 8th placed Premier teams not 5th and 6th[/i]

Gotta say I'm a fan of the new system, could be trouble if we have mass dropouts, but I reckon that aint likely in SWL.

Kudos to the commission team for coming up with it.

Well the Norse boys of the Fyord Frollikars have purchased front row seats for the blockbuster match of the round. They have decided to drink ale from Glass Tankards and hurl the empties onto the ground to help with the attrition rate....ohhh and heaven help if they are allowed a pitch invasion Smile

I think it would be better to can games in favour of the coach who hasnt been offline for a few days now

kinda slack to get your team knocked out because your oppo was never online

/me looks for Kozzi

So perhaps a little squiz at the buddy list to see if someone has been offline for a day or more, and if so, they lose the game - this also makes it more likely that we will have games played in each round...

cause with random forfeting, you could make the final by never coming online to play =]

Sydney (is the Blue Mtns in Sydney?) Games Day Wrap

A gathering of 7.5 SWL'ers made it all the way to sunny Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains for a day of table top Blood Bowl, beers, half cooked sausages, beers and in chunky's case eucalyptus drops...

Yours truly hosted this event and gumbi, skonos, faulcon, chunky04, FLo711, beefygoodness showed and XZCion spent 2.5hrs in a train and then after 45mins had to go home again to catch a movie (hope the movie was good mate!)

First round of games kicked off around 11am and we got stuck in... my Orcs led by Varag Ghoul-chewer sliced up Skonos' rotters 3-0 and Flo's humans gamely played chunky's dwarves but lost...

Beefy's Undead containing Thrud the Barbarian AND the Count tied against Faulcon's Dark Elves in a very long match.... but the Darkies were beat up in the process.

I then fired up the BBQ and lobbed a mere 30 snags plus onions on the plate... then, everyhosts nightmare - ran out of gas half way thru!! So into the kitchen with the fry pan and griller going full bore to finish the job...

It was an appropriate smell - cooking meat - as chunky's dorfs were playing gumbi's gobbos in the mismatch of the day... tackle and high av don't mix with gobbos...

Faulcon's darkies turned it on 4-0 against the Rotters, but we're so beat up that they were losing TR faster than my beer fridge was emptying and on the rickety card table, Beefygoodness was smashing into Flo's humans...

There were heaps more games, and we went on until about 8:30, before people thought of the long drive home from the mountains...

In the end, chunky's dorfs went 3-0-0 with Beefygoodness going 2-1-0, his only blemish being the impressive but wussy Dark Elves of Faulcon who ended an admirable 2-1-0.

The rest of us had good times, but lucked out on the score sheet...

Laugh of the day goes to Flo's human lineman called 'ozjesting' who was killed by the undead and joined them as a zombie...

His stats may have decreased in that transformation, but some may say his humour improved... Wink

In the end, the day ended with promises of doing it again soon... the Wollongong boys volunteering their establishments as the next venue.

It was good to meet the faces behind the nicks and share a game and did I mention a few beers!

We enjoyed the beers and the snags muchly, though I must point out it was Skonos who ate most of the Eucalyptus drops! I could have sworn he was growing grey fur by the end of the day, but I was on my way to the loo again so couldn't be sure...

In yet another update on the shows and times of one Tommy Dean...those of you who have had the foresight to have the Comedy Channel as part of your cable TV package can watch "Hit and Run" this Tuesday (Aug 3) at 9pm to see what a day campaigning for a porn star can be like Wink Enjoy!

Picnic Reminder!
Round 2 games are due tomorrow night. It's great to see some Rnd 3 games done already, but the remaining Rnd 2's need to be done. Forfeits will occur first thing Thursday morning - I will be bringing my black d6 of forfeiting death to work so watch out!

Season 6
Still have not had word from a couple of coaches re their committment to the SWL Divisional Structure (the guys ranked with a 4 in the Coach / Team Roster section of the main page.) Need you "4's" to email us admins at swladmin@hotmail.com to let us know you're keen!

Also, all people who are in the Divisionals (Ranks 1, 2, 3) who do not yet have a QPool team (Rank 100), you have until the end of the picnic to do so. Fresh LRB Compliant Div [U] TR100 teams please!

Co-Commissioner Apology
I would like to apologise to the greater SWL community for the saloon passage run that Commish Twahn has had in the picnic with his beloved Carlton United. I will do my best to stamp out this injustice in Picnics to come... Razz

bb d6 doesnt really work

zero alpha hasnt been on for 6 days and is a 50% chance of making the next round if he stays offline!

need to check if one has been off for more than 2 days, and if so, against them, otherwise, bb d6 it up!

Someone posted a link to this in one of the other forums - great way to chill from the bloodbowl blues!

http://www.wagenschenke.ch/

(Just need to move the mouse left and right to keep balance - walk as far as you can!)

SpOon! - It gets harder every time he has a swig. Up to 60m its easy, then be ready for the violent lurches. Just a matter of making sure he stays within a smaller arc and corrections have to be somewhat violent Wink

I get past that first lurch just after 60m, but come down with speed wobbles in the 70's. Occasionally I'll get through to the 80's without wobbles when you generally cop another biggie that usually brings me down. Twice I've gotten through that one, but come down with the wibbles again at 91m! And then...

My record so far is 107m! Surely there are more drunken b******s out there in the wastes than me Wink
