Makes sense.

Your suggested team would be legal under the current format.
0-16 Dark Elf Linemen
0-4 Gutter runners
0-2 Wardancers
0-6 Chaos Dwarf Blockers
0-2 Werewolves
0-1 Troll

However under your suggestion it wouldn't be, CD blockers are not primary lineman.

I forgot Hobgoblins!
Non-chaos dwarf blockers, then
And maybe zombies as secondary linemen as the other players are so expensive

Anyway the point was more about simplifying the presentation of the rules, rather than a specific composition
Because I found original post too confusing (are you sure it says I could have 0-6 CDBs?)

But simplifying the rules like that allows teams that aren't allowed in the current format, rightly or wrongly.

5-16 Zombies
0-2 Black Orcs
0-2 Chaos Warriors
0-2 Bloaters
0-2 Flesh Golems
0-2 Mummies

I don't know if that's a strong roster (and it's a deliberate extreme example), but I think it's what the current ruleset is trying to prevent

I'd count mummies as big guys, and only allow 0-1
So could replace with 0-2 saurus

Looks fun but probably not competitive, unless you have some agi players. So could get 8x str4 players, but not until it was at a huge TV

I'm glad you noticed I'd made primary linemen 5-16 so you need 5 of them, and I think I'd make it an ongoing requirement too... Not sure if practical tho

so, can someone price an 11 man team with that? everything but the golem and the mummy would be 4 too

closest i get to a full team is 2 mummies, two golem/ bloaters and two chaos warriors, the rest zombies, which leaves you with no skills like block ether and 2-4 chaos warrior ball men, since they're all that's above 2 agility you're also pretty slow with your 11 man team and you've had to buy rerolls and as an undead get no apoc

Confusing question but sounds like you answered it
ironically the best way to max-Str team is elf linemen, then can use 5 slots for Str postionals

Eg

5 woodelf linemen
1 chaos warrior
1 nurgle warrior
1 flesh golem
1 black orc blocker
2 saurus

11 guys, 910 base cost. Starting with 1 saurus and 6 elves lets you get 2 rerolls for 1000k

(For same price I'd rather have 0-1 troll over 0-2 golem. It's for an example, but if real team then buying the 10th str guy to fill the roster might never happen)

I think as a rookie team it'd probably lose to normal orcs or elves, so not hugely overpowered until it gets skills and cash...
But then any of the rosters in this league will produce scary teams at high TV, that's the point...

I'm curious what Antithesisoftime thinks of my simplification, anyway

Messaging anti is the best idea. The rules do need an FAQ.

Ha.. the rules need way less text, not more!
That's what I was trying to fix by crushing it down to a basic table of 6 slots

simplified rules.
Teams must have one 0-12 or 0-16 lineman from the listed lineman category.
Team's must have one position from the Blitzer category.
Teams muddy have one position from the runner/ thrower/ catcher category.
Team's may select 3 additional positions from any position type to fill a roster

Also, you could choose not to field any of your required positional, right? Like take Wardancer as your Blitzer, then not hire one until next season?

Sure, if you're using a stuntee lineman, and taking Ogres. Big guys are limited to one on a team unless otherwise noted (See Halfling Trees, Ogre Ogres, Mummies, and Tomb Guardians)

Yes, that would be acceptable.

And the linos are 5-16 available, to insure they are on the roster?
