Are we sure this thing is actually fairly random? Lol!

Just played a game that was pretty epic on the bad scale. I think maybe 2-4 stuns against a Slann team with my Chaos. Meantime, I think he injured 3-4 of my guys?

Claw and Mighty Blow did nothing. Ive seen bad before, and maybe this was literally the worst luck I've ever had playing Blood Bowl, I mean one of them has to be, right? Hahaha...either way...BRUTAL.

If you say so. Never seen anything like that, in thousands of games of Blood Bowl, but like I said, there has to be a "worst" game out there somewhere for everyone.

Barring errors in implementation, it's supposed to be very random.

"Did you know? The number of matches played is 2358783."

Anything happens eventually. Smile

And personally I've played/watched quite a few games where C-(PO)MB did nothing and the opposition had more luck CAS-wise.

I've played over 2500, I've seen a lot of stunners. Roll enough dice, stuff happens.

Quick answer: Yes, the RNG is good.

One interesting thing about the RNG used is the same instance across all games. In a table-top analog, you can think of it as if there was a single set of dice that were shared across all games played. A more correct way of thinking is that there is a single die used for all rolls; call it a d24 to allow d6 and d8 to be calculated from a single die (the code actually rolls a d256 with some special casing to make it "fit" the particular die being rolled; e.g. 6*42 = 252, meaning a d256 roll of higher than 252 is rerolled).

If the RNG was broken, it'd be broken in the same way for everyone. There simply isn't a way for the RNG code to favour a particular coach or team. It simply doesn't get the information who is making the roll.

That is interesting, but my log says otherwise.

Play enough games, you'll see pro elves beat chaos to a pulp.

Rabe that signature is kinda big... maybe consider re-sizing or cropping

For a well-grounded, yet truly inspiring view on probability I recommend watching this guy's take on what probability is, even:

...probability isn't a fact about the world. Probability is a fact about an observer's knowledge [of the world].

Doesn't help failing menz, but might help getting over it - once you realize, noone knows enough about the fumbbl's current RNG-state to make it non-random in any way for him. Razz

RNG is better than your average real dice for randomness, the problem is that the spirit world can manipulate the RNG easier than they can with physical dice.
