It occurred to me the other day that I have never scored a TD with a big guy. Being limited on FUMBBL time recently I've had great fun scrolling through the records whenever I've had a few minutes, and replaying classic big guy TDs. So I thought I'd share a few and start a thread so everyone can enjoy the best ones, and in a few weeks I'll set up a poll with the best ~8 so we can decide the greatest of all time, 'Match of the Day' style.
Here, in no particular order, are a few good ones for starters, with links and descriptions in case you're lazy. If real life is getting you down or you just got a dicing, some of these might just put a smile on your face:
1) Foularm Mauler – Minotaur
Crazy Minotaur (maysrill) vs Razorsharp Fiddlers

Foularm clears the right wing with a blitz, then turns to catch the ball. He then charges 12 squares up the rightwing splatting dark elfs as he goes. 4 dark elfs crowd around him near the endzone but can’t take him down, and he frenzies through for the score - butting one of the pointy-ears high into the crowd for his TD celebration!
2) Robert Pattinson – Yeti

Robert Pattinson is the only Yeti on record to score in either R or B. This AG 3 beast scored 39 TDs, but sadly 38 of these are too old and not archived. Robert’s last TD - he cruises into midfield and is largely ignored… presumably his opponents thought he was just having another sulk at the essential pointlessness of the universe, despite being handsome and surrounded by beautiful women…. But no! He takes a handoff, smashes through one man and sprints 7 squares into the endzone!
3) Quickbeam – Treeman

Treemen must be the least obvious scorers of all, but Quickbeam lives up to his name - he has scored 89 TDs to date! Most are short, brutal drives but this one is a gem. Trailing 1-0 and with the pesky elfs stalling for another TD, all looks lost until the Halflings blitz through the cage and knock the ball loose. It’s briefly recovered by both sides and a throw is missed by the elfs. But meantime Quickbeam anticipates the opportunity and breaks into the opposing half all alone - he turns and makes the catch! He then sprints 12 squares for the TD, none of the elfs can get near him! Presumably he was playing downhill, and rolling…
4) Farmer Giles – Troll
Maesbury Marauders (DaveH) vs White Hand

Most trolls are dim-witted oafs who you wouldn’t trust to pick their own nose, never mind handle the ball. But then there was the late, great Farmer Giles – a M6, Ag3 superhero with dodge and LEAP! In this play things look grim for the Marauders – 2-0 down and Giles only has another troll (of the nose-picking variety) and 3 goblins for company, in pretty useless positions. Giles is on the left halfway line when the ball is spilled nearby, but an orc blitzer covers it. Giles blitzes him away, makes the pickup and – forget the wing - he charges down into the centre of the orc half single-handed. 4 orcs try to bring him down but can only manage a push. A further three orcs surround him and things still look hopeless… BOIINNGG – he leaps over them and sprints another 8 squares to the endzone, leaving 7 orcs gaping in his wake! I’m not sure if this is what J.R.R Tolkien had in mind for Farmer Giles of Ham, but leaping, sprinting trolls? I’m sure he’d approve! (This is also probably the greatest comeback I’ve ever seen. To finish the game the goblins get a blitz, and despite still having only 3 goblins and 2 trolls, a pogoer manages to get the ball and leap in to draw 2-2!)
5) Rippit ‘Receiver’ Rogan - Ratogre
Clanrat Kings (PaddyMick) v Big Boy 2

An Ag 3, three-armed ratogre who thinks he’s a receiver… and incredibly, he is! Rippit cuts in from the left wing, flattens a black orc and then turns in the middle of the orc half, bellowing for the ball. Thrower Guillermo looks upfield from the shotgun position. Who to pass to, the M10 gutter runner or the ratogre? The ratogre, obviously (otherwise he will get his head bitten off in the dressing room). Rippit makes the catch, blitzes through the orc line, breaks a tackle and sprints into the endzone. Never in doubt!
Enjoy, and please share any more good ones you know of. Btw by 'big guy' I mean any of the St5+ players with loner - not mummies or golems. TDs by star player big guys are a bit harder to search for as they are not on the Top Lists, but if you remember any they will count too. |

A Major quarter final ...and Chaos for All are 1-0 down with one of the nastiest teams you'll ever see turning the screw. Looking around Morg realises that none of the wannabe stars has what it takes and a steely look enters his eye. He's Morg 'n' Thorg, the greatest blood bowl player of all time, if the team around him is collapsing he will carry them on his shoulders. He dodges into a tacklezone, picks up the ball, blitzes his way free and turns on the gas. A huge nurgle warrior wraps his tentacles around Morg in a desperate attempt to stop him but the Ballista isn't deterred and shrugs him off as he charges into the endzone.
This is the pivotal play in the start of an epic comeback. Morg is superb and celebrates in style. |

Horny Mchooves lines up for this match as he did so many others... ready for action! The mino roars into the game and after a slow start, gets his first TD from a hand-off after picking up some casualties. Thereafter, he performs his customary roaming drive for his second of the game, before finishing off playing wide receiver to romp home through and past two markers on his way to completing the hat-trick.
This isn't his only 3-TD game and he has inspired some imitators over time!

McHooves is a Boss, the original and best.
I've only scored 1 Big Guy TD. It's not really worth a mention, but I was very happy with it at the time. Began with the Troll catching a KO on the LoS  |

At 1st it would seem like cheating since he now has ag4... but he also scored one TD on his 2nd game (was unskilled) and now has scored 27 TD's in 45 games (including 2x hattricks)

Not fumbbl related but i love this Krox on bb2!!
He rolled so many boneheads (turns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 on 1st half!!!!) still scored 2 TD's in one game!

In this match World of Wrestling had 3 Ogres killed, 1 ogre niggled, and 2 snots killed!
But outnumbered in the 2nd half Giant Haystacks had the ball for the 2nd time in the match and this time managed to score a consolation by escaping on his own and breaking tackles to the endzone.

Ha ha some more great candidates there already! I was just about to get round to Horny McHooves, a minotaur with 123 TDs is awesome. Really like the Beast of Nurgle interception and half-pitch return, and Morg's turnover TD is great too. Think we will have a wide field to choose from once we get to the poll...  |

Wow just replayed that Giant Haystacks return, that is pretty special too, even if he didn't have Loner... Deciding between these could be difficult |

I don't know if he scored any great or memorable TDs, but no conversation involving Big Guy scorers is complete without Dreadclaw's fund raising Troll. A great effort. Hopefully you find room for him somewhere.
