Underworld

Image

As well as a second thrower I wanted to make the rats look a little different from their Skaven counterparts

I also had a go at an albino. I quite like this one

However, I was informed that in Warhammer fluff albinos are storm vermin. I did try to make the blitzers more albino, but decided the existing ones are better than anything i can do.

Skaven

The natural thing to follow on from UW is the skaven lineman expansion

and extra thrower

I really don't like the current hobgoblin set. But there are only 4 of them, and they need expanding.

Does anyone else think they need renovating, not just expanding?

Here is the current set in goblin green, better?:

i think its good to renovate hobgobs, agree they don't look great currently

i'd avoid the green of an existing race, they should be different. less neon green, tho definitely

your newer ones look good with increased depth of shading. and the colour does suit them.... i'm just a bit hesitant about overlapping an existing race's colour

the beastmen and skaven all look good. is it possible to make the darker ones less grey, and more brown?

charcoal grey is pretty tonally similar to the royal blue, not enough contrast imo

good work tho

actually with the darker fur on new goats it makes them identifyable as the newer type...
is it possible to add variation of colour to the existing tan ones?

so then a full squad of beasts would have a spectrum of fur colours, rather than half being the same tan shade, and the other half being varied darker shades

I agree that current neon green Hobgoblins should be different, but the new Hobgoblin green goblin skin colour seems too pale, a slightly darker colour for the new set should look better.

i believe in retro. Hobgobs were always orangish, and should be again.

There was a bit of discussion about this on discord. Can you dig up some official evidence that GW Hobgobs were ever actually orange? Or was Citadel "Hobgoblin Orange" for the clothes?

Puck is identified as a hobgoblin. but it's totally another setting.
maybe a pinkish-skin goblin? not orange. not Trump.

Would love feedback on this

I had planned to have the expansion project finished by the end of August. Things have slid though with Amazon, Elf and Dark Elf contributors slipping away.

Hobgoblins were orange in Dungeons and Dragons. Warhammer they were green. At the very start of citadel range Citadel miniatures used to make miniatures for loads of games that weren't their own.
While some people may still paint their hobgoblins orange warhammer fluff is pretty clear them being green.

I think the new hobgob colours are great. I think bottom left or right would work better. The NK ones are far too green.

There have been a few distinct versions of hobgoblins.

1. Citadel's D&D range
2. Citadel's early solid base ranged used in 1st/2nd ed warhammer
3. Citadel's slotta based hobgoblins for Talisman/3rd ed warhammer
4. Citadel's Persianesque 4th edition warhammer and 3rd edition Blood Bowl (ours)
5. Citadel's Mongol style dogs of war

The oringal colour I think was Swarthy Olive, but was more green (for number 4) which was always thought to be a brighter comic style of GW.

There are fluff examples where hobgoblins aren't recognised as goblinoids, so I think the actual colour should be a 'greenish tone' rather distinctly 'goblin green'. The talisman figure on the left is the perfect 'greeny tan' hobgoblin in my mind. It's greenish...
