I was curious if there was anyone else interested in playing Ranked games at a very slow pace, over the course of 2 to 3 days. I find myself having 15 minutes here, 30 minutes there and rather than do something useful or important I'd prefer to spend it playing say 2-4 turns and then doing those useful or important things.
I know this wouldnt fly in Box but perhaps in Ranked there might be a few takers for this kind of 'almost PBEM' kind of thing. |

I've been thinking about a "Dad's League" (Mom's are welcome too!) for this exact reason.
edit: I do recollect something about it being risky for some technical reason. |

I know christer has a huge list of requests for things but an explicitly asymmetric mode would be cool
So you could set always stand firm, only apoth these few players on these few types of injury, etc
So that a player can do their entire turn without needing opponent to be present |

I'd be up for that. Nice to take a short break at work, or play over 3 lunchbreaks etc.
Is there a reason why this would have to happen in League? Perhaps in Ranked or Box, it would be frowned on as not being competitive or something? |

In my mind, a league would be nice for some who don't get the opportunity to play in those because of time constraints. My impetus was building Ranked teams that I don't really have enough time to play with - my Orcs, Chaos, Dwarves, Lizards, etc etc.
I thought Ranked would be ideal because you can coordinate a gamename and schedule ahead of time with an interested counterparty. Box, not as much. |

The 10-game rule is one potential reason -- if the slow-game player pool is only so large... |

I'd be very interested, but think it might be better in L.
1) easier to schedule with people who have regular slots
2) you can have multiple games ongoing with the same team in open matchmaking
3) league admins, rather than FUMBBL admins, could sort out any weirdness (cancel, award wins etc).
But interested regardless |
