Greetings FUMBBL coaches Smile
You may have seen this elsewhere. Or not.
I'm the guy behind the Bretonnian team, and over the summer I've written a 32 page magazine about playing Bretonnians with fluff, a playbook, artwork, Star Players and everything. I hope you will like it.

Congratulations.

This is a fantastic piece of fan fiction.

The writing is very close to GW quality, it's in great depth and is clearly a labour of love.

Truly impressive work.

I even like your Star suggestions and think they look about on par with the current generation of stars from the new BB2016.

My only tiny gripe is I would prefer absolute clarity over what is 'official' (sanctioned by NAF) and what is your own creation.

The NAF three (Slann/Brettonians/Khorne) are never going to be adopted by GW and if they are to live on in NAF tournaments in the future at some stage someone will have to suggest and play test stars for them or else they become a backwater with less options than other races, this could be a great place to start. Of course the flip side is that any further fan created aspect to the rosters makes them even harder to see a GW future for, but that boat has sailed in my opinion. Bretts, Slann and Khorne are dead.

Thanks for the kind Words Smile
I am quite proud of it. Not least just managing to go from the random thought of "I could do that" to actually having done it Smile

@PurpleChest - I think it goes without saying that none of this is GW official. Even so, I've put in several instances of "unofficial", including the first page.

As for NAF sanctioned, none of the new material is. I've tried to make this clear on the star player list (page 6) and the inducements list (page 23), both of which contains a specific column that shows what material is NAF legal (i.e. not the new stuff).

As for keeping up with the official teams as they each get their Spike! magazines - we all thought that getting a Spike! meant getting 10 stars. But the latest one, lizardmen, only has 6. So it seems Brets won't be trailing too far behind after all. On top of that, Brets have several stars that are actually tournament viable (IMO). Also, with the latest rules Review, NAF cut Dolfar and gave the Brets access to Bo Gallanté - so I'll have to update Le Pic soon to reflect that. But that was certainly an interesting twist.

Kind regards
Martin

Personally, I couldn't give a monkeys about what is GW official, NAF official, or any other kind of official.

IMO, play to the rules of the league/tournament that you are signed up to.

Different rules on different days is fine by me.

While that is entirely true, I wonder if anyone else considers ut remotely relevant.

Brets are "official" in the [L]eague division. Wink

So are Simyin & Daemons of Khorne. Don't the NAF allow them?

You are correct. League is where the house rules are.

I'm not sure what NAF allowing custom rosters has to do with anything though.

It tells me that they are mainstream enough for a playbook post to be in the strategy section.

That's the sort of dangerous talk that could lead to the demise of Slann. Sad
