i know you will hate this but take block... he wont earn skills quickly enough to be reliable without block.. frenzy wont be _that_ useful cos he only has mv and no block... sf is ok but onyl defensively.. where as block helps you both defensively and offensively... dodge once again is helpful but only defensively and on the rare occasion you will need to dodge with him... dt is ok for doubles on a line orc but you want str 4 to be standing... even if it does end the opponents turn.... +1 mv is ok.. but not that crucial...

in conclusion... block is an awesome skill! is protects you on defence and assists on offence, makes your bob more reliable and keeps him on his feet longer and gives him a higher chance of knocking his opponent down and thus getting cas and his next skill....

the only thing i would trade for block on a bob would be +str (for obvious reasons)

anyways thats my summary

You might also consider Jump Up.

I´d go for Block or Frenzy. Block for obvious reasons, but Frenzy can giev you the edge in any game. St. 4 players with frenzy is a personal favourite of mine. Block for safe play, Frenzy for the daring play.

Jump Up is an agility trait, so BOBs can't get it.

I'd probably go for stand firm, unless you want to just take block. Stand firm is great in combination with guard, if you ever get to a third skill. SF also allows you to make some dodges you would ordinarily have never made (50 % chance isn't that bad if you can't cause turnover).

Jump up is an agility trait so can't be taken. I would go for block also.

Do NOT take block. He can take that easily enough on his next skill roll, which is not soo far away. Id go for frenzy or standfirm. You will probably get more cas with frenzy than with block anyway.

For me its stand firm, or frenzy if you play aggressively. Block is 10 spp away. However, at 16spp I'd probably take block over anything except +str if you dont take it now.

Stand Firm is my personal favourite.

Been developing Sauruses and had the same dilemma on a double first roll...

I took Frenzy on one and Block on another - The Frenzy guy skilled faster although he caused turnovers.

I would suggest taking Frenzy although Block is very attractive just because you won't have the chance to take Frenzy again.
Block + Frenzy will be deadly and worth the risk of a Frenzy only player for a while.

Have to stress that it is a difficult choice but with Orcs your Blitzers have Block to make the important ball carrier blitzes and are dependable for that so why not make the Black Orcs Frenzied maniacs racking up the casualties?

above all, never ever waste a doubles on a first skill by taking block (except on stunties ^^)

How many games will this team play?
Block is better for the short term. Chosing frenzy is better for the long term.

Go frenzy. Only way he will get spps if with blocks. Frenzy gets him two blocks a turn. Just be prepared to use rr on the 1/9 that he rolls double skulls/powskulls.

And I agree with what tricktickler said too.
