Twahn’s Tvarnholm Bearskins Win WWB Championship

Congratulations go out to the Tvarnholm Bearskins for winning the inaugural season of the WWB with a fantastic 2-1 victory over Dinotopia coached by Shaqpooh.

Coached by Twahn, the Norse Bearskins were the cream of the crop in the WWB. Their 14-1 final record is a testament to the sheer greatness of this team. After losing their 1st game 2-1 they then rattled off 14 consecutive victories and outscored their opponents 7-1 in the playoffs.

The Bearskins were led by star catcher Kori Manbiter with 10 TDs, blitzer Ivar Bjarki with 5 CAS, and thrower Osvald The Axe with 11 completions.

All eyes will be on the Bearskins for season #2 as they try and defend their crown.
Congrats Twahn, the championship was well earned.

Anyone interested in eventually joining the WWB please contact Mully or Lurking Grue. The MLB and Sinners and Saints (soon to start season #2) leagues are feeding grounds for the WWB immortals.

Sveni Hooknose gazed dumbly at his, still for the most part unconcious, teammates and the piles of beer and women that littered the great hall around him. He still couldn't believe what the wizened old crone huddled in front of him was saying...

"It's been how long?" he asked, grimacing as she screeched her reply.

"Yea, the Moon has passed though every one of Tvarn's Kingdoms since your mighty heroes defeated in cold battle the last of those scurvied dogs that pretended their worth against you. The mighty Tvarn, who brings all things, has cast his light on the world two score times since you and your comrades made godly what last pieces of your mortal bodies were still but manly yet. Indeed 'tis so, as Tvarn's beard is true so too are my words."

Sveni's beer addled brain was not the sharpest axe in the block at the best of times.
"Ur?" he remarked, as memories of that last fateful battle trickled back. His memories were foggy at best and something was wrong with the installation of his java blood bowl replayer thingey which was stopping the link from working but he was pretty sure he remembered the important parts. He remembered...

The opening whistle blowing clear across the frosty morning plain and Erland Freyvid's accompanying screams as sum kind of friggin' dinosaur came bloddy crashing down from the stands and ripped his Tvarn be damned head off, swallowing it helmet and all before poor Erland could even finish his sodden beer. To Erland's credit his corpse had stood it's ground Sveni recalled, refusing to fall to the ground during the frenzied melee that followed as lizards started pouring onto the pitch like a flagon of spilt milk. No use crying though, the man at least had died with a beer in his hand...

He remembered... ... Tvarn damn it! He couldn't remember much else in the way of details at all... He silently cursed the evil God of java replay whatsits and took another swig from his beer.
One thing he could remember was that he'd had a bloody good time of it and that and that the opponent's coach, Shaqpooh, had been of goodly humour and great value to play against. It had been a close affair at many points and could have swung either way, the Bearskin's having lucky patches in the right places and Sveni knew that if the all conquering Tvarn were in this hall right now he'd tip his many horned helmet in Shaqpooh's direction for a game well coached. Cheers mate.
